13th not really available at distributor anymore as has been superseded.

    • +4

Can you ELI5 for me, please?

Why would you want the 13th gen equivalent instead?

      • +1

Price on 13th gen part is cheaper for similar performance benchmark.

Most benchmarks put the 14th gen 2% above in comparison which even less of a percentage of people will notice/care about.

      • I don't want a 13th gen equivalent instead. There's not much of a difference between the two however the price is difference is so negligible that it's just better to get the 14th gen over the 13th gen, which was different to what I initially thought.

  • @luketechfast, any upcoming 4080 builds?

    • +2

We have these still live but are working on another one for posting this week

      • The 7800X3D 4080s build is saying sold out when trying to add to cart

  • +6

Wow, well done Luke, all you good deals help to fight for this stupid inflation. Cars, Laptops, even Vege need to come down cheap prices like this deal !!! Just a bit over $700 for a 4060 build so absolutely sweet !!!

    • +3

The R5 5500 deal isn't bad either. Nebula PC, Techfast and another brand I'm forgetting have some great offers here.

      • This CPU is better for gaming than the R5 5500 which is the 5600G missing the igpu but same level of cache (which is half of 5600).

  • +9

I've waited for so long a cheaper version came out…
I purchased on 1st of March, still haven't received it.

    • +8

The previous version with the Biostar B760 were held up due to an unforeseen RAM/motherboard incompatibility meaning we had to rush order more RAM in. Apologies for the delay on that one. It is a higher spec though.

  • +1

Cool deal, but a 4060 is not really "suitable for VR" (per the website) with something like a Quest 3 IMHO.

    • This is of interest to me. That is precisely my circumstances. I have no real dedicated gaming PC.and I do have a Meta Quest 3 so would be interested to know what to get.

      • +2

You'll be blown away for the price. Games designed for VR will be fine. If you're unsure, this guy has pretty much the exact configuration and benchmarks heaps of games VR and non https://www.youtube.com/@pandabenchmarks4738/videos

        • hmmmmm thank you. I'm trying to understand the contradiction between your remark and @caitsith01 remarks above. I don't have an opinion either way as I really genuinely don't know. But is it saying not recommended on the site as suggested. I looked quickly but didn't see it.

            @seamonkey:

PC gaming is not like consoles - it's always a "how long is a piece of string" discussion.

What is "recommended" depends on what sort of experience you want to get. Even leaving VR aside for a moment, some people are playing competitive FPS games that are not graphically demanding, others are targeting 1080p 60fps, others are targeting 4K 120fps.

You need to look at the benchmarks of the games you want to play and decide on what sort of experience you would be happy with.

          • +1

@seamonkey: I have a Quest 3 and an RX 6800 which is quicker than a 4060 for most things relevant to VR, and it is only just adequate for most VR games. As @TrentBT says it's probably fine for VR specific games, but that's because VR specific games generally have pretty piss poor graphics in order to allow them to get the required performance.

Basically for VR you ideally need to be able to maintain a steady frame rate that matches the refresh rate of the headset, so for Quest 3 72Hz/fps. Any frames that take longer than 1/72nd of a second make the VR experience unpleasant and increase nausea etc. The Quest 3 has a really nice display but it is also fairly high resolution which increases the demand on your GPU. Ideally you want to be able to render games at an ever higher resolution than the headset to improve quality.

If your plan is to play 'normal' games with VR modes (MS Flight Sim, DCS World, Assetto Corsa, etc) then I would suggest saving a bit more for a better GPU than a 4060.

            • +2

@caitsith01: 4060 has NVENC though. That's a massive plus for sending compressed video to a headset.

              • @Gorby: Eh, I've read this but I'm yet to see any empirical evidence that HEVC or AV1 make any tangible difference to the user experience other than adding encoding/decoding latency to an already fairly laggy headset.

                • @caitsith01: I'm Quest 2 and 3080 so AV1 doesn't help me, but HEVC works a treat for steamlink/airlink/virtual desktop.

The main AMD advantage is that they ain't stingy with the vram.

            • @caitsith01: Absolutely. RX 6800 and even on the Quest 2 some things are almost sickening (No Man's Sky, I'm looking at you). Really varies between games but the resolution required for good VR is a GPU killer.

          • @seamonkey: For the price. Watch the vids in the youtube. To get the experience desired by caitsith you'll be spending twice the money if not more. If it ends up not good enough, sell the 4060, buy a 4070.

        • Yeah, my son plays a bunch of VR games on a quest 3, he's got a 1660ti, whenever I've seen the screen showing what he sees it's running great. He does only play made for VR games though.

    Hi Luke,
can you just send me individual the parts without assemble the computer for me ?

    • +7

Pretty sure they don't do that and have mentioned many times before as the support gets out of hand fast.

      • +1

        Thanks no problem :)

    • +3

      seamonkey is right

  • +19

This is a no brainer over a PS5!

    • Agreed, I might buy one of these instead of a PS5. I want to buy a PS5 but having to pay to play online is a real kick in the nuts.

      • +1

Yeah within 3 years you'll have paid minimum $300 to play online, it does of course come with PS plus games and it's worth it if you play some titles already attached and don't own the games already but PC steam and game key sales usually trump console too.

        • +2

That's the thing right… I JUST want to play online. I'm a busy dad of three boys and we love playing Minecraft together. Minecraft is peer to peer so we are not even using Sony's servers… It's just wrong!

I feel punished for being a Sony fanboy since I was a teenager.

          • +1

@AndresF: For Minecraft that's a joke, I don't need PS plus to play GTA or Fortnite online so I'd figure it would be the same.

          • +2

@AndresF: Minecraft will always be a better experience on PC too and don't need much to play it all

  • Hey Luke is pick up allowed?

    • Yep, leave a note at Checkout and we'll mark it. Shipping is refunded after pickup

      • Where is your pickup location? Can't seem to find this anywhere.

        • +2

          Beverley, South Australia

      • Hey Luke, already purchased before the reply! Is there an email address I can send the request to? I was also thinking of getting the bronze PSU upgrade instead of listed one if thats possible.

  • I wish to have itx with 4070 TI ;(

    • +1

You can build your own with a 4070ti

    • I've just done a build with this case with a 4070ti. It fits…just.

  • what will be the next best value cpu after i5-12400f ?

    • +2

for gaming, pairing with anything below a 4090, probably 7600. you won't find that in prebuilts though.

    • +2

Next faster and more expensive probably 7500f or 7600 (m/b and ddr5 ram is more expensive as well). Ryzen 5600 is similar performance as 12400f. Cheaper and slower probably Ryzen 5500 or i3 12100

  • Does the motherboard have USB C connectable to the case?

    • It does not

      • bugger thank you for the confirmation.

  • -2

can i play hell diver2 on the 4060 one

  • +2

What are the ports on Intel H610M [ITX] Motherboard?

  • Damn I just bought this build last month for 799

    • +3

the 799 build has faster ram, and a better speccd mobo, and a larger ssd

  • Can this run Anno 1800 on 4k?

  • +1

Is it feasible to stay on Mint for games on Steam, Uplay, Rockstar launcher or is Windows required?

    • +1

If you are just playing singleplayer games, most will work just fine through steam due to Proton (the same way they do on the Steam Deck).

Multiplayer is murky territory due to anticheats not cooperating with Linux. Counter Strike 2 has native Linux support if u do want the occassional multiplayer experience without hiccups.

  • Oos ?

    • Adds to cart fine for me and sold one 5 mins ago

  • +2

    NOOOOOOOO

I not receive prev 4060 deal yet and it drops now

    • +2

The other one (that i also ordered and just arrived today) is DDR5 and 1TB SSD. Im ok with that for the difference. I havent check whats the difference between the boards

      • +2

Yeah for $20 more you get 1TB SSD. Ram is still DDR4 and PSU is 550w. This seems a better deal.

        • I wasnt referring to the Ryzen 5 deal. And realise this may be what op and you are tslking about.
Im referring to the previous i5, 4060 deal.

  • +3

Anyone know the best option to add wifi? USB vs PCIe (if GPU doesn't block PCIe), gen 6 vs gen 7?

    Thanks for any help

    • Well I believe this motherboard has one pcie x4 m.2 slot for nvme and a pcie slot for the GPU so unlikely you can add any internal wifi card unless there is a slot for it ( I have no idea if that's the case as this isn't a brand I've ever heard of so must be a Chinese import via Ali express Or similar)…

      • So is there anything I could do to have a stable internet for gaming?

        • +1

I had a look at their website it says it has a reserved CNVI interface for Wifi, this is typically what you'd find In a laptop ( right next to the audio out) Maxsun example CNVI … You'll have to check with Luke make sure the MB model in that link is the one they are supplying, if it is then technically it should be possible.

          • @scud70: Is the short PCIe slot next to audio out the reserved CNVI Interface? If it is, i should buy a PCIe wifi card, no?

            • @Johnny614: Not a pcie as such, the WiFi card is what you'd find in a laptop typically. That cnvi link in my comment shows you what the format would be in a desktop form….. Definitely double check with Luke though make sure that's the exact mother board and one of those wifi cards will work with it.

              • @scud70: Thanks mate

                • @Johnny614: This question has been asked a few times..
                  see below..

I did a review of the previous Techfast ITX build using the same motherboard..
                  https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/techfast-itx-gami…

In short.. there are no issues…
Other than being a bit fiddly.. (have to remove the motherboard from case to screw in the brackets and need good eyesight and skills to click in the antennaes …

I've been using Ax210 wifi cards, ordered from amazon…
                  Extremely fast and stable..

  • +1

is water cooler good option or wasting money?

    • +5

      in this case, wasting money

  • Is it worth it using it as a transition? Am I able to sell it after 2 months of use around the same price? Or simply w8 a bit longer for EOFY deal… I'm after a 4070 or 4070s build, for a potentially better price.

    • +3

you could probs sell it for more

      • W8 is it THIS good?? Then cannot hold anymore..

        • +7

Why not just type out the whole word instead of writing "w8"?

You aren't sending these messages from a Nokia 3310 are you?

And yes, this is a steal for the configuration. Shouldn't have trouble shifting it in a few months if thats your prerogative. I'd sooner buy this, slap in a 4070 (or even better, a 7700 XT or 7800 XT), sell the 4060 and call it a day.

          • -3

@xyron: I mean as long as ppl understand :)

But I'm not particularly after a small case like this. I've read from elsewhere that they have worse ventilation, and generally deals for parts of an ITX build are harder to find and more expensive? And future upgrade options for ITX is not as good?

This would be my first desktop PC so I'm not really knowledgeable with it. Size isn't any problem for me.

          • +2

            @xyron:

You aren't sending these messages from a Nokia 3310 are you?

            You're not?

  • Whats the expected delivery time?

    • 5-10 business days on these

  • How much for this system WITHOUT a GPU?

    • +5

      but thats the juiciest part

  • This or the 5500 + 4060 deal

    • This is a better CPU for gaming but the MB in the amd one is an Asus (if I recall) vs this one which to be honest I hadnt heard of… So not sure if you can go to a higher CPU down the line whereas the amd board you can probably get to a 5700x3d and it'd be ok.

  • Maxsun motherboard

    who dat?

  • Any chance that the $799 B760 similar deal will be back?

  • Any idea how many fps can you get on cs2??

  • Exciting to see a similar ITX deal back! Can we install a wifi card (PCIE or mini card) like the last deal?
