Tips:

  • Use "add to basket" if you are buying more than one item to minimise the number of times you use this coupon, while ensuring your basket holds less than $1,500 of items to avoid the $300 cap.
  • Do your research first. Some retailers/items may be overpriced, certain items will be cheaper elsewhere even without the 20% off.
  • As always don't forget 2% cash back from Cash Rewards. Help
  • Dick Smith is having their own sale on their site. It's always best to compare the prices between DSE eBay and the DSE website.

  • is it worth getting a N54L during this deal?

  • The stress of deciding between a Note 4, G4 or an S6 has been killing me all day… Can't I just have them all >:D

    • +3

Of course you can - and they are on sale!

    • +2

Go the Note4 over the S6 (which lacks removably battery and SD slot) - that narrows your choice down to Note4 vs G4 (pretty close rivals)

      http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/LG-G4,Samsung-Galax…

    • +7

Having Note 4 Since november- preordered from vodafone. The best phone I have ever used.

Can't recommend the phone enough, but also depend on ur usage, I got a 64gb sd card and now my phone has 32+64 gb.

Its worth it. But list down ur needs and what exactly will u be using it for. Cheers

    • Z2 is not so bad as well compared to G4 or S6 even though it's quite old.
Long Battery Life and Great 4k Camera and 60 FPS Video

      • I wouldn't mind a Z2 except I'm moving on from a dead Z3 which often overheated in the camera interface (great manual mode) and my battery life was good but not as amazing as what was reported on reviews.

  • -5

dodgy dick smith sending invoice with the amount after discount, none of the other retailers do this. I'll return my s6 and buy from TGG

Automatic response from them saying they are away until the 29/06. seriously? no reply until the sale is over? useless customer service

EDIT: Any Dick Smith rep around to explain this?

    • +1

People probably return the product for the full price plus discount. But hmmm that would mean Dick would be pocketing that discount if they only put the after discount price on the invoice.

      • I don't see that happening, when you return and item the transaction will be reverted, you wont get full amount you will get what you paid.

    • -1

      From Paylpal:

      Original Transaction
      Date Type Status Details Amount
26 Jun 2015 Payment To Dick Smith Electronics Completed … -$965.95 AUD

      Related Transactions
      Date Type Status Details Amount
26 Jun 2015 Charge from Credit Card Details $774.15 AUD
26 Jun 2015 Voucher Completed Details $191.80 AU

      They are pocketing the discount.

      • So you paid $774.15 as expected then? And ebay/paypal chip in the extra 20%, what's the problem?

      • Pretty sure you can't pocket a discount. EBay seems to subsidise these deals. They pay the 20% to the retailer so they get the full amount and your tax invoice reflects this. Good for TRS.

        • -1

I cannot say for all the stores. But TGG and Futu Online provided invoices with the full amount (before discount)

They received 965.95 ( 80% from me and 20% from ebay), They should provided an invoice for $965.95

        • @aldoduco:
They do. Well they did for me. Your copy and paste is from PayPal. Aside from $18 or so TRS refund you might lose, what's the problem anyway? You still paid the right amount. No one pocketed anything.

  • Any good deals for a cheap laptop?

  • Thanks OP!
Managed to get a Intel Core i5 4690k processor for $257.49 from Kogan.
Seems to be about $70 cheaper than anything else on StaticIce.

    • +1

Good price, but I couldn't wait up to three weeks for delivery.

      • +4

there is no trust with anything coming out from Kogan these days, it is either dodgy, damaged, no customer support, no warranty etc etc

        • I got mine delivered from kogan from hump month, like one n a half weeks wait. Testing it today.

        • 1.5 weeks is not too bad.

        • @shonofear:

fail mode, no Hdd to install windows on, so booted it up and it went into bios no problem :)

    • I got the i7 from Kogan for about $400 plus $50 voucher.

  • +1

Just purchased fridge and microwave from TGG very happy saved about $400 :)

  • is it normal for the tracking number to say 'not found'? I bought on 11am friday so would it be still updating?

    • yes normal. yes it will be updated in a few days.

      • it's due on the 2nd of july though which is quite soon so updating in a few days would be kinda pointless right? is that ok you think?

        • happens all the time.

  • I am thinking of buying the samsung monitor from futuonline, anyone purchased from them before?

  • I need an FM transmitter. Are the Aerpro's any good (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aerpro-FM-Transmitter-With-USB-Ch…).

Anyone tried the Kogan 4-in-1 bluetooth one?

    • Bit pricey.. If you're not in a rush, get one from China, $5 - $10. Just grab on with a selectable frequency with .1 steps..

      • Yep in a rush- it's a gift.

My main concern is that the FM transmitter won't be strong enough. If anyone can comment please do.

  • Why is the OP's account disabled?

    • too much pressure got to him

  • Picked up this Oven for $79. Seems to be hiding on TGGs eBay store.

  • does anyone have link to PS4 Batman Arkham Knight either on eBay dick smith or dick smith website itself? can't find it no more :(

  • Just wondering if it is really worth the extra $$$ to buy a local stock iphone over a grey import through kogan? Touch wood, i have never had a problem with a phone unless i dropped it or got it wet. Its the exact same specs, and surely you can still take it to the apple store - what happened to their international guarantee?

  • I bought enough micro SD cards for my GoPro Hero4. Any good deals on GoPro accessories? batteries?

  • +1

Why is everything cheaper on Kogan's site than their ebay store?

    Bastard.

    • Shipping and eBay fees for a start. Sometimes no explainable reason than to take a bit more coin.

      • +1

$22 plus ebay's fees. Doesn't add up to the extra they're charging.

I still pay via paypal on the Kogan site, so that's some fees still being taken out right there.

And it only seems to be during ebay sales that the web site and ebay site differ in price after shipping.

      • And shipping inclusive on their eBay store for most items isn't it. On website shipping extra.

        • As I said, $22 plus ebay listing fees, which does not add up to the extra they're charging.

        • @lostn:

which does not add up to the extra they're charging

Long story short, companies want profit. Consumers flock to "20% off sales" expecting everything to be cheap, so places like Kogan will jack up their prices hoping people don't actually check whether prices are good or not.

        • @IceCreamBandit: If they want profit, they should jack up the website prices as well to match the ebay prices.

  • Hey guys and girls,
what is the best bang for buck gaming laptop of this sale?

I'm hoping for something around $1500 or under.
It doesn't have to have the latest CPU or GPU, it can be last years model.
And screen size not larger than 15.6"

    thank you.

    • +8

You might already know this, but keep in mind that if you just get a good brand basic laptop for $500, the $1000 left over will get you a gaming desktop much more powerful than any $1500 gaming laptop.

Gaming laptops are useful for business people who travel a lot and game in hotel rooms, and basically no-one else.

  • Can anyone recommend good value earphones below $50?

  • Looking for a tablet with HD resolution. Any recommendations?

  • I was looking at this laptop, can anyone recommended if it's good for gaming, such as CS:GO, GTA V etc. I'm more interested in a laptop rather than a PC so I can use it on the go. Price is around $454 after 20%.

    • Fine for CS:GO, but expect mostly low/medium settings for GTA V.

    • That's only a mobile i5-4200U CPU and a GeForce GT 720M 2GB GPU.

It may not even run GTA V. The 720M seems to be well below the published minimum requirements. If it does, it'll be very low settings to run it smoothly - it'll look much worse than the console versions.

720M can manage very basic gaming only, don't expect much.

      • Can you recommend any laptops at around this price with good specs to play games at decent graphics?

        • No laptops exist around this price with good specs to play games at decent graphics.

You will need to spend closer to $1000, or get a desktop instead, if you want to play all the latest performance-hungry games (like GTA V) at medium or higher settings.

        • @mgowen:
Do you reckon this laptop will handle CS:GO at alright (mid+) settings?

Any desktops you recommend? Or just build one.

        • @bk07:

I was about to ask if any one had seen a good pc from the participating retailers :)

        • Asking for the best laptop for playing games is like asking for the best looking title on the original Gameboy.

        • as mgowen said, not at that price point

although this is refurbished, it's decent specs at a decent price

  • Any good ps4/xbone console deals not sold out?

    • DSE still has the Xbox One Halo Bundle for $400 click n collect

  • +3

Damn.. Last of the "cheap" Geforce 970's on Kogan are gone.. Would have come to about $395 with the discount.
These sales are such BS.. On Kogan's site = $497. On the Ebay site = $557

  • +1

Guys can you help me find a OK $400-$500 laptop for my Dad? His last one just died. I don't know enough to pick out specific models :/ Closer to $400 the better he just needs the basics.

    • What are the basics? Internet or media consumption or a bit of works like words or excel etc?

      • +10

Basics like 4k video editing, bitcoin mining, latest games etc

      • +2

Just internet browsing, maybe a few YT videos now and then. Maybe once in a blue moon using Word to write. Thoughts?

Just get a hybrid tablet/laptop like Asus T100 for $300+

  • +7

Went to buy a product that was in stock at my local good guys, added discount code and the transaction failed because apparently ny local did not have stock. Then accidently bought with the rubbish windows phone app without discount and its being shipped from my local store. Extremely dodgy from tgg.

    • +5

Yeah extremely dodgy. Last time my local store was out of stock so I paid for shipping, but then they sent the order to my local store for processing! So I ended up waiting over 3 weeks for it and they said they couldn't refund the shipping charge even if I went in to pick it up.

    • +1

      Make sure you cancel it!

  • no deal on surface pro?

  • +1

D'oh, only just thought to buy Phillips LED bulbs from DSE but you guys already cleaned up :-( outta stock…

  • I bought this laptop, tax time coming and seemed quite decent, build quality not quite as good as an apple but has a touch screen which you can swivel around 360 degrees. Cheapest on staticice was $1395 so this is $200+ less with the extra puma pack. Not really a fan of puma stuff but its free so I'll take it.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HP-L2Z73PA-Spectre-x360-13-i5-128…
$1190.40 after the code, less with cash rewards.

It also comes with some stuff from puma rrp $209 if you buy before the 29th
