Tips:

  • Use "add to basket" if you are buying more than one item to minimise the number of times you use this coupon, while ensuring your basket holds less than $1,500 of items to avoid the $300 cap.
  • Do your research first. Some retailers/items may be overpriced, certain items will be cheaper elsewhere even without the 20% off.
  • As always don't forget 2% cash back from Cash Rewards. Help
  • Dick Smith is having their own sale on their site. It's always best to compare the prices between DSE eBay and the DSE website.

I am moving in a month time and need a fridge and washing machine! Hate to miss this good offer. Scared of the risk not fitting the new place..

    • +1

Was looking for the same things a couple months ago and can recommend the following after some thorough research:

      Fridge: Panasonic Inverter 554L
      Washing machine: F&P 8.5L washsmart WH8560P1

Both are listed at TGG eBay store and not marked up for this sale. Get on it!!

      • Thanks!! But do you think they can delay the delivery til a month later?

Or change the model if it does not fit?

        • Exact same situation as you with the last 20% sale. I didn't pick up my items til a month later after my house was completely settled. Only applies to click and collect, unsure with delivery

        • Thanks!!

IMO, the best for the price and one of the best in energy efficiency. Have it and happy with it.

      • Thanks!

Decent deal for 4 pack of AAA Pro Eneloop

I got two packs for around $22 Click and Collect

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/eneloopPro-Rechargable-AAA-4-Pack…

  • How does CC price protection work on these items

For example: Samsung UHD TV. the receipt will show $1866 but the CC statement will show $1566

    • I believe you can claim 80% of any price drop - eg its pro-rata on the proportion paid using the credit card (compared to the other 20% which you "paid" using a voucher) - which seems fair.

Same thing if you choose to pay 80% on credit card and 20% using store gift cards or cash or whatever.

Its better than only being able to claim if the advertised price of the item drops below the 80% price you pay - thats a lot less likely.

  • any decent 1080 24" monitor to recommend?

  • Lucky this goes only for one day, otherwise I will be broke and unproductive.

    • +29

What if i told you, it lasts for 3 days

      • No way

    • Tell me about the unproductive aspect, insanely bad for productivity.

  • Has anyone looked at BingLee samsung galaxy s6? most of you guys post about dick smith or kogan but what about Bing Lee? it is not that much expensive compared to them.

    • why not post the different prices from each of those sellers and at the same time present a solid argument?

      • I'm actually looking at the 64GB version which I forgot to mention, and dick smith has already removed their s6 from their website plus kogan only sells 32gb. I'm just wondering why the previous posts did not mention about it.

    • I would like to know about this. It is confusing. Annoyed that I pulled the trigger yesterday on buying a S6 at Officeworks 64GB, got a price match and ended up walking away with it for $881.60.
It was a gift for the wife. I love the phone after having a play today. I want one now :) I thought I researched this. Then I open the newspaper today to see the going price at TGG was $868.00 and it sounds like people were lucky enough to pick it up for, what mid 7's? (20%).
I dont know what to do…did I hear something once about the Kogan ones…bands they support or something like that? Then, if I get myself and edge…I might be able to get a 32GB with 20% off for around 800? via Kogan. Binglee option looks ok…anyone else in the market? and advice?

  • Hero 4 Silver pick up at TGG - $380 with cashrewards.

  • If a couple of you lived nearby and paired up you could get Batman Arkham Knight for $54.40 each, less with cash rewards. I was thinking about it but doubt I will put more than a couple of hours into the game :(

  • Oh wow, Kogan sells Clinique…good prices with 20% discount!

  • Picked up a cheap new rangehood as the old one switches broke:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Westinghouse-60cm-Fixed-Range…

and grabbed a new head unit to get bluetooth capability and USB (old one only had mp3 CD and Aux in). Can't complain about an awesome double Din Pioneer head unit for $150!! JB is selling it for $300 and most other shops around $230 or so!
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pioneer-2DIN-Bluetooth-Smartphone…

Did click and collect for both!

    Panasonic Microwave Oven 32L NN-ST641W

    https://www.masters.com.au/product/100244264/panasonic-micro…

List price $189, I went in store to buy one and mentioned about the 20% off ebay offer..

Store said sure, however when they scanned it.. it came up at $178, so all up Paid $142.40

I have seen JB HiFi selling this unit for $198

  • Got the Asus AC68u router, thanks.

  • If I purchase this LG WD12021D6 washing machine from the goodguys ebay store which is selling at $678 + 30.11 shipping before code, then can I lodge price guarantee with TGG as competitor (Harvey Norman) is selling the same model for $649 including free shipping.

    The ebay totals are :

    LG WD12021D6 ——— $678.00
    shipping ——————— $30.11

    eBay Voucher———— - $135.60
    ………………………………………….
    Total …………………….. $572.51
    ………………………………………….

So, would the TGG consider the price guarantee given that the price charged was $678 + $30 (not counting the ebay discount) and competitor price is $649; or would the TGG consider the total amount paid (after ebay discount) for the price guarantee?

    • -3

… That question doesn't deserve an answer.

      • I would like to know why would you say that.

        • Stands to reason that the price policy works on how much you paid, not how much the item is advertised for.

        • My reasoning and question was mainly due to the discount which comes from the eBay not the TGG. So technically TGG guys would get the full amount as ebay would pay the 20% of the full amount.

Once again, if the TGG were to price guarantee the difference would be $29 and 120% difference guarantee would $34.80. I would like to know if it would be possible to do price guarantee as in this case (as I believe) advertised price would be considerable.

          @Oz Bargain 3:

I think you can because goodguys invoice will be a full price (without 20% discount) source: i just got an invoice from TGG for HDD i purchase

        • @andyken: thanks mate. that was helpful.

        • @Oz Bargain 3: Let us know how you go.

        • +3

@4892: ok I will, once I get the invoice and will post back the result after contacting TGG.

    • What's "eBay Voucher" and how did you get it?

      • +3

lol what are you even doing in this thread?

      • The tooth fairy left it under my pillow

    • Sweet idea, I'm going to buy the same washer and I'll attempt the same.

    • You can but TGG price guarantee says you cant but as long as TGG store you go to doesn't know then yes you can.

      I've done it before.

    • TGG now selling it for $648…

    • I got invoice from TGG and shows amount without discount. The online price guarentee team said they have recieved the claim and will sent it through the store (castle hill where it is shipped from). Today a lady called and said that becasue it was purchased through eBay, price guarentee does not apply. Though as suggested, I will try to visit in store (as suggested by Rakddon) after a week and try my luck

Just bought an electric blanket and small microwave from Target. Approx $39 each (after discount), total $78, qualifies for free shipping as order >$75, saves me both money and a trip to the shops. That's one small step for globalised capitalism, one giant leap for me the consumer.

  • Thanks for this one - will check out a new lawnmower, see what Masters has!

  • Any found a Asus Nexus Player anywhere ? Dick smith must have taken it down yesterday off ebay

  • Hi, looking for a cheap 10" tablet for the kids. I came across the Konka at Kogan or the Nextbook at deals direct.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these or can recommend another tablet?

  • how come this
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-4-4G-LTE-32GB…
doesnt have the usual wording of "Save a further 20%off (max $300) by using code C20EXTRA"? kogan is included in the sale, right

    • Yes, I think if you check the OP and the Ebay main page you'll find Kogan is included

  • anyone know if i can claim TRS if i bought an iphone through KOGAN? coz its shipped from hong kong will there be tax on it?
    thaks

    • no way…. shipped from HK means greys…

      • ;) ask Kogan for a tax invoice with GST added. haha

Sorry… couldnt help being a smartarse

        • If there's no GST paid, and your iphone cost more than $1000, it would stand to reason that's an import and you're going to be slapped with customs and duties charges?

  • Apologise if this has already been asked in this thread, but if I purchased something from Dick Smith using Click and Collect (9am this morning) what is the usual timeframe to be notified and for the item to be in store? Would love to pick up this weekend!

    • +2

I bought at 10am this morning. I got the collection notification at 8pm today.

hit and miss, the george street one sent me an email the next day, pitt st (Westfield) hasn't been able to confirm after a week for two transactions.

I have had it vary from an hour to a day. If it's urgent, call the store and ask nicely.

      • Yeah I went in the store twice to see if they knew anything about it, wasted lots of time on each visit. I work in retail so I'm really patient but still nothing :(

    Any bargains left?

  • Wondering why Kogan is selling the Apple Sports watch for an inflated price of $587.. when its $499 retail at Apple.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-Watch-Sport-38mm-Black-/351…
I had my eye on it the other day when it was around $50 cheaper, but the Kogan 10% off tech has finished up.
I saw it this morning for a little higher around $600 something (can't recall), however it seems to have moved back down to $587.
Still with 20% off it brings it to around $469, only $30 off the price from Apple but mind you its from Hk more than likely.
Why can't another retails as part of this deal sell it for RRP with 20% off.. doing my head in lols.

    • +1

      Wondering why Kogan…

      Because it's Kogan.

    • -1

I thought there were potential legal ramifications for selling above RRP

      • +1

RRP is 'recommended retail price' and it's really just that, a guide set by the supplier on how a particular item should be priced at. Retailers can sell stuff for whatever they think people will pay.

Case in point — a bottle of water might have an RRP of $1 but when you go to a music event they sure as hell can charge you $7 for an ice cold bottle.

It is not illegal to sell something at above RRP.

      • +2

It's not RRP that you're thinking of, which is recommended retail price.

What you're referring to is MRP, also known as maximum retail price. I haven't seen this in Australia to date.

  • I want to buy a new washing machine from TGG, how do i add extra warranty??

    • When you pick it up maybe see if you can add extra warranty there

      • I want to get it delivered instead, it's too heavy and bulky. I may contact them directly.

    • Do you really need that extra warranty, you know, Australian Consumer Law and all, products should last a reasonable amount of time, regardless of how long they say the warranty is for..

      • My thoughts exactly. The "extra warranty" is a total scam which is pushed aggressively due to the commission individual sales assistants get as well as the store. ACL will protect you for at least 3 years for a washing machine, and there's no excess.

      • Yes, thanks for letting me know. I have actually heard about that. But, to me that's more like a grey area. 1st year your get the warranty from the maker, after 1 year? What do i need to do / how to prove it's still should "last" longer??!

        • Even though there is the ACL, if the retailer ignores your demand the only way you can achieve anything enforceable is to take the retailer to a tribunal. You also have to pay for that plus there is no guarantee of the outcome.
With the extended wty purchase you will get what you pay for in the wty for the term quoted, no questions asked.
There is a difference… the ACL is only a list of things that they would like the retailer to do… it is not enforceable.

        • You would probably have better luck dealing directly with the manufacturer. Anyway, I think the problem with the extended warranties is they are usually so full of loopholes and vague wording that when it comes time to make a claim you can find your left with a worthless bit of paper.

  • Im after a home theatre, nothing special and I see the Yamaha YHT-1810 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121500239493?referrer=swift-widge…) $399 - $80 $319, seems a good deal? Can anyone comment on this package, I know it is lower end, but for the $'s is it good value? I would looking at getting a Denon at HN and matching some speakers up, but $'s too tight at present :( Also HN have it for the same price, then could use my $50 Amex, bringing it down to $349, still not as cheap as TGG ebay though. Guess HN wouldn't match an TGG ebay price?

    • Paid 320 from appliances online eBay i think during the last sitewide sale. It's a nice setup, fills our small to medium sized tv room with enough sound. Not sure it would be big enough for a huge room or a large party.

    • There was a logitech 5.1 system in the mid 200s posted a few days back as part as part of this deal. Not sure if that would be an option?

    • I wouldn't buy something so cheap myself, not enough of an upgrade from decent-brand-TV speakers to bother.

But yeah, Yamaha is a good brand for these and staticice says it's a good price:

      http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=YHT-1810&sp…

  • +3

This is pointless. All the vendors do is jack the price up by 22% or more.
