Lavazza A Modo Mio Minu Coffee Machine - Free (up to $25.50 Profit) after $50 Cashback @ Target

2000

20/8: As many of you are wondering where your claim validation is being 10 days now, it has been confirmed that they have been a little overwhelmed with claims and will take an extra 5 days to catch up. Also 32 free pods appear to be on their way.

Lavazza currently has a cash back promo on their pod machines until 6/9/15.
The Minu is collecting $50, Target currently selling for $49 (EDIT: Some stores are now selling at $24.50) (normally $59) so technically you can profit $1 (or $25.50) on these.
Still $49 at my local Target as of 14/8.

Like printers they love to make their money from the consumables so entry price is low, but ongoing can be high. Think the pods run about $10-$12 for 16. They are a nice compact unit though, so I grabbed one to keep as a backup if my automatic machine dies. (Cheers to my bro for spotting the special)

Some important info as per the T&Cs:
"Cash back of Lavazza A Modo Mio Minu White Capsule Machines are only available from Target and Dick Smith" so no price matching elsewhere on these ones.

Also the cash back form hasn't been updated completely from the last promo, and after submitting will tell you that its outside the (previous) valid date range but it goes through OK. You'll receive a confirmation e-mail and Lavazza state they will notify you of your claims validity within 10 days. (This has also been confirmed here)

It has now also been confirmed that multiple claims are ok

Not currently available online but should be plenty of stock across Target stores (although is listed under Clearance on Target website so may vary).

  • None left at Forest Hill Vic, except for what's on hold for Ozbargainers out the back…

  • Plenty left at Roselands but @$49

  • +1

One empty box at Bankstown NSW, no machine!

  • One left at blacktown display missing cord and the lid for the water thing. Comes to 36$ so it still a profit I decided to pass on it

  • Thanks OP. Picked the last one at Castle Hill, NSW., $49.

  • Thanks for posting this amazing deal and tips from everyone.

I went to Target Mt Ommaney QLD this arvo. There were still about half a dozen left on the shelf. They scanned at $49 each. Sticker price was $59. I went to the checkout, asked the staff member if they would be able to match Target Robina QLD (as posted earlier by a few members) for $24.50. She said she would have to speak to her supervisor. Her supervisor then called her manager on the phone, who after a long conversation agreed to price match.

I had to show the Ozbargain thread on my phone (lol)… and I overheard the conversation on the phone: "it appears that some people are just posting stuff on the internet saying it's $24.50", "there has been three, four customers today already coming to ask about this", "Robina can't sell their stuff at half price because they're overstocked", "$49 is already quite a good deal" etc.

Yeah but in the end I got it! I think they will be looking at changing the price back to $49 again quite soon…

Bought my minu at target Adelaide. Was $49, had some sale on so was reduced to $36.75 and because it was display stock, they took a further 10% off. Lol. If this $50 cash back comes in, they just paid me $17 to take it home. Hahaha

  • +1

Thanks guys for this awesome post. I bought from Target Riverlink Ipswich this afternoon 49$ and plenty still remaining. Still in the box till confirms cash back (LOL). Also claimed for free pods!! What a great bargain shopping today!!

PS: Beware that Woolworths sell pods for 11$ per box, while it is 12$ in target!! Any idea for cheaper pods?

    • +1

The pods are pricey compared to other ones and rarely discounted.

Also as an experiment, I tried refilling a used pod using the same method here:
      http://www.instructables.com/id/Refill-Used-Nespresso-Capsul…

First up I tried some coffee from some old L'OR nespresso capsules I found in the back of the pantry (that were best before in 2014). It worked out pretty well, this Lavazza machine has an advantage that the perforations in the base of the capsule are easy to line up, so the capsule can be reused many times over. Will try again with some better coffee when I get a chance to go to the shops.

      • I advise you not to try this on this machine.I made one machine stuffed up and pod drawer totally clogged.Luck I bought one more and they are free anyway.

  • hey, so my local Target are sold out but more arriving on Tuesday the 11th. Can anybody confirm if the cashback offer ends on the 11th of August or the 9th of Sept ?
also he said they are going for $36-
UPDATE… ok, it clearly states it on their website. The promotion ends at 11:59pm (AEST) 6th September 2015.

    • +1

Yep, it's the first line of the post.
The reason I marked the expiry as 11th (also explained in the post) is that the tag had instructions for staff to remove it on 11/8 which leads me to believe the special finishes then and the machine won't be completely free anymore (though would only cost $9 which isn't too bad if you really wanted it.

Wouldn't have thought they'd get more stock tho since it's a clearance line??

      • yea, i read it wrong.
yea not sure why more ordered but im not complaining.
just got the call that the stock arrived today !!! yay, already got it at home just applied for the cashback/free pods.
        cheers bam and others

        • +1

They're like, wow these are selling well all of a sudden, maybe we should keep selling them :)

Good to hear they got more anyway

    • Where is your local store?

      • Maroochydore

  • Pods are expensive.

  • If you haven't got a machine left there are at least 10 left at Roseland's target in NSW.

Selling for $49 though and they would not price match.

  • Any comment/thoughts about the taste comparing to Aldi pods?

  • They even had stock literally on the floor at Browns Plains yesterday. I've got three so far. Putting the Gumtree money towards my charity.

  • +2

Claim two boxes of Free Capsules PER MACHINE you bought from Lavazza.
    http://store.amodomio.com.au/free-capsules/

  • Just bought 1 :D

  • There's about 2 or 3 left at Target Meadow Springs (WA) as of about an hour ago.

  • Can someone help please?

I got the very last one at Target Leichhardt, Sydney. No box or warranty or anything - just the machine.

Could someone who has opened their box tell me if there were any extra bits included in the box, or vital instructions or bits of paper.

If there is paperwork or info missing that I need for the cashback, I will probably return it.

They wanted $40 because of the missing packaging, but then I realised I only had $36.50 in my bag at that moment, so he took that!

    • Nothing special in a box. If you have all the parts, that all. Serial number is under machine you may need this when claim free pods.

  • Dandenong Out of stock now.

  • -1

Has anyone had success claiming their free 32 pods for multiple machines? I bought 3 machines and the cash back claims seem to have gone through as I've received a confirmation email. However, I have only received 1 confirmation email for the free pods claim.

Any advice on what I should do?

    • Why the down vote?

    • +1

at the bottom of the email:

"Why Am I Receiving This Email? You have received this email because you subscribed to the Lavazza A Modo Mio newsletter."

I assume 1 email per email address. Confirmation that they would send the pods was provided after you pressed submit, this email was for the newsletter sign up by the looks of it.

      • My bad. Ignore my post.

  • +1

I haven't gotten a confirmation for the free 32 pods for the 2 machines I bought. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

    • +2

I didn't get an email confirmation, but when I submitted my details I got a confirmation.

  • +1

Should probably note that the 32 free pods promo started a year ago, and runs until 18,000 machines have been registered.

Since there's no indication of how many have been registered so far, there is a chance none of us will be getting free pods…

    • True.. thought once I lodged my claim it said I would be receiving 32 pods in 10-14 working days. I take that as being accepted and will argue if they since say otherwise..

    • But the promo should have been taken down if all 18000 have been claimed?

      • +2

Yes, but considering their record with updating their promos, I wouldn't count on it. The cash back claim form for example telling you after you submit that your claim may be invalid because its still set to the dates from the previous promo and even the email offering the $30 Lattemento after you register says its valid until March 2015 (although the website shows the same offer right now so you are more likely to get that). Plus, like you said the promo should have been taken down, maybe that's why I can't find a direct link to that promo on their website? We'll see I guess.

        • Yes,that.

Hopefully they come through anyway. In their best interest really isn't it. For the few dollars it costs them, might convert a whole lot more OzBargainers who would otherwise put it straight on the shelf with all the other unnecessary purchases :)

        • @bamzero: Once I use up my 32 pods I think I'm dumping it. Basically I got to try 32 pods for free and didn't have to pay for the machine to try them with.

        • @lostn: if they drop the price of their pods to $0.50 each and taste just about the same as Nespresso i will switch to Lavazza.

        • @lostn: I will bring & use it in local library to save power and water bill. Oh well, free reading & wifi as well.

        • @efunovasky: Do you drink tap water from a public tap?

        • @lostn: No, I wash my cup there.

        • @bamzero:
hi,Bamzero. i couldnt understand your post properly other day i just look today it again & understand it properly. can you please advise me if its too late now for cashback?also Is the cashback only applied if we buy from target store or we can buy from any store? thnaks

  • -3

Can someone please explain to me what I need to do to get the cash back? I have never done this before. Do I pay the full amount in store frst & then wait for a credit or do they send a voucher?
Can i just walk into Target with one of these printouts & get the coffee machine for free?

    • +1

Pay full in store, complete cashback form online and wait for direct credit to your bank account

    • +3

dont forget to ask target for $25.50 cash and free pods as well.

  • Can anyone confirm if its still $49 at target today? If it is, I might drop by after work and see if they have stock at Broadway

    • Why don't you give them a call? You might as well since they can keep one aside for you if there is stock. No point on relying on others since it might get sold out anyways by the time you get there.

      • Gave them a call, no stock in Broadway and Bondi. :(

  • +4

Has anyone received their cashback yet?

  • Only display model at broadway. $79 but the lady scanned at $49. I passed.

  • Bought my second pack of pods today, almost spent more money then the machine cost me now :)

$11,96 at my local IGA :(

    • Why not buy online and get a box free on your first order? Cannot wait?

      • I have no patience :) Yea I ordered the milk thingy so will get one free box there :)

  • When I submit the cash back claim form, it says that

We're sorry - but your claim may be invalid.

The purchase date you provided does not fall within the purchase period of
    30 March 2015 to 10 May 2015.

Check the terms and conditions for full details.

However, on the claim form date picker says 'between 1 aug and 6 Sep'
    Anyone know what I missed?

I bought a Minu white machine at $49 Target.

    • As long as you get the confirmation email it should all be fine.

  • +2

It seems they have updated the date range - I didn't get the "invalid claim" message the second time around.

  • +2

The cashback form has gone missing online!! When I click on the link, I get "This account is currently disabled. Please contact the Wufoo Support Team for more details.". I will try ringing them tomorrow, don't want to miss out on the cashback :( Has anyone contacted them about this?

    • yes - what's going on?!

      • Also it seems the 32 freepod claim isn't working either. "There was a problem with your submission. Unable to complete the form submission"

  • +4

Dont forget to keep your receipt in case cashback doesnt come through you still can get a refund within 30days of purchase.

  • This account is currently disabled. Please contact the Wufoo Support Team for more details.

  • +2

Looks like it's working now online.
Date updated with a confirmation saying they have emailed me back.

  • +1

I can also confirm I registered my machine today. At first it said problem with submission. I waited a while and submitted again and got this:

    Thanks for registering your machine.

You will receive your 2 boxes of capsules, containing a total of 32 capsules, in the next 14 days.

    Enjoy your cafe quality coffee!

    Browse our coffee capsule range.

    • did you get pods yet?

      • No I haven't received them yet. Over 14 days now! Boo…

  • Thanks, it is working, however it seems like a new page which you can't force a secure (https://) connection to, so is it safe to send your bank details over such a connection? The previous version could be forced to be secure. The free capsule link worked well for me, securely, though.

    • Are you worried someone might make a deposit into your account?

      • +1

No, I would love that though! Withdrawal is what I'm concerned about…I don't know much about computer security but I thought mitigating identity fraud is a reason why secure connections are used for sensitive financial details?

        • +1

You're right - I was kidding. Although I don't think bank account details are as open to abuse as credit card details. If someone makes an unauthorised direct debit to your account your bank is supposed to refund you and chase the biller.

        • You can give your saving account numbers.AFAIK,all banks should reject direct debit from saving accounts.

    • The new page does not have 'Target' as store, so do we just select 'Other'?

      • +1

Or maybe they decide to exclude target from the participating stores?

  • How long did it take to get the validation email after submitting the online form? It's been almost 8 hours so far and I haven't gotten anything.

  • Imagine the cashback was all canceled, and all those refunds going through the sales rep, poor Target workers..

    • Don't even joke - It's been 9 days for me and no Cashback. From the email:

Haven't heard from us within 10 days?

Please check your junk mail folder or contact customer service.

Email [email protected] or phone 1300 302 334.

Gonna be a busy Phone line over the next week me thinks.

      • +1

Its actually 10 working days, so 2 weeks real time, and that's to get confirmation of claim validity, not the actual cashback.

A bit earlier in the email it says
"You will receive an email notification within 10 working days advising the status of your claim."

  • I'm getting the same thing. No confirmation email, nothing on the final cashback page when you submit. If worst comes, I'll just refund it

  • my machine seems to leak badly from under the main middle section. anyone else have leaks?

    • I don't have that problem, but check so that the water dispenser is inserted correctly. Also check so that the "second spill cup" isn't full.

      • Yea I've checked those you mentioned, still leaky. Just put a tea towel under it for now, will have to return it though I guess, not sure if Target got anymore stock.

  • +1

    Has anyone got confirmation?

    • Nope. Will wait for 2 more weeks before it goes back to Target if I don't get the cash back.

      • Nothing here either yet. Lavazza are currently in top level talks as to how to get out of paying out $10,000+ in cashback claims nationwide i reckon!

    • Very slack and confusing system.
No one gets an answer, Target disappears from the list, form goes away and comes back.
      Not well run.

      • +1

its only gone from the drop down list. its still listed on the PDF:

        "Cash back of
Lavazza A Modo Mio Minu White Capsule Machines are only available from Target
        and Dick Smith"

but yea, its taking a loooong time without any information

        • Yeah, this T&C has not been changed and we would better keep a copy of it for later reasoning or suing in case that they edit out.

        • +1

@Neoika: Nah just refund the machine and never buy Lavazza again as simple as that.

        • At Target it was a clearance item, so makes sense to drop off list if no longer going to be sold at Target.

You can actually purchase the machine from the Lavazza online store for $49, so I dont see an issue with the low price.

  • +1

The Promoter is Valcorp Fine Foods Pty Ltd Ph: 03 9224 1900
If anyone want to follow up tomorrow.

    • +10

I called the number today… on hold for a while. Eventually spoke to someone and they gave me this number for customer service: 1300 302 334

Called the 1300 number and a kind lady advised me that they have received my claim. They have been inundated with requests so it will take about 5 more days to send the emails out to everyone. Even though the T&Cs state 10 days, I'm happy with that.

      • +2

        Well done, thanks!

      • +2

        Thanks for the update

      • +1

Thanks for the update buddy. Well done!

Guess there is a few of us pending the return of the machines if we dont get our cashback

Can we return a machine to Target we used if we dont get our cashback?
