IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023: RE Method 2

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to continue with Method 2. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • For those who do not have funds in OlduBil and wish to utilise Method 2, I'm afraid this is no longer possible at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

Background:

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Xbox Game Passes, Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up. The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day.

Due to a price increase by Spotify worldwide, my previous guide has expired. But no worries, this guide is now better than ever, and combines the two methods together (Google Pay for those who want to use Australian Cards, or Virtual Türkiye Mastercard for those who can't do the Google Pay method) as well as providing more information on extra plans and family systems. There will be some screenshots throughout the sign-up process for OlduBil(see screenshots in the instructions section) from previous testing - and yes, I can confirm the validity of these methods because I don't spend money for nothing. Most important thing - Türkiye is still very cheap!

Thank you so much for all your support and previous comments (I love reading them)! Any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Instructions – Method #1 via Google Pay (Android Required) – If you want to use your Australian debit/credit card

Note: If you currently subscribe to Google One or any other Google services via Türkiye, then you may already have a Türkiye payment profile in your Google account. If this is the case, you may not need to do Part 1 at all (go straight to Part 2).

If you have an existing Google account and don't want to create a new Google account, simply add a new Türkiye payment profile into your Google account (not ideal for Google accounts where the sole user is an Android user or the family system consists of Android users - see why in the notes section of this post. You can create a new payment profile by following these steps: go to https://pay.google.com/gp/w/u/0/home/settings and clicking the pen icon next to "Country/Region" and a link to create a new profile should pop up. You can then add details for the Turkish profile (If needed, use a fake address generator to obtain a random Turkey address).

If you don't have an Android device, and would still like to use your Australian debit/credit card via Google Pay, consider this BlueStacks method by @langh using a PC.

Part 1 – Creating a new Google account

  1. Create a new Google account on your phone.

  2. Delete your Google Play Store cache (this may not be required). If you don't know how to, please see Google's instructions.

  3. Select your new Google account in the Google Play Store app to switch over from your personal account or add it in if it's not there (to do this, click on your top right icon, then click the dropdown next to your account email, then click "Add another account"). Make sure the selected account is your new Google account.

  4. Add a new payment method and select "Turkey" as the country (to do this, click on your top right icon again, then click "Payments and Subscriptions", then click "Payment methods"). If needed, use a fake address generator to obtain a random Turkey address for the payment profile. You can use your Australian debit or credit card (or any card as you wish) and best to use a card with no international transaction fees (Suncorp and Latitude Platinum have no international fees).

Part 2 – Subscribing to Spotify Premium

  1. Boot up the Spotify app and click "sign up" or "log in" with VPN off. If you don't have the Spotify app, download it from the Google Play Store. See link here.

Can I sign up with my Australian Spotify account? - Yes! Simply log in (make sure your current subscription, if any, is cancelled).

  2. Turn on VPN and connect to a server in Türkiye (see Notes section for suggestions) and leave it on for the remainder of the steps below.

  3. Boot up the Spotify app again. Click on the premium tab on the bottom right of the home screen. Select the plan you want. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure the country is set to Türkiye. If it's Australia or another country, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye.

Alternatively, go to your Spotify account settings on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. However, you still have to double check on the app again on step 3.

Country dropdown box greyed out? - I bet you have a current Premium subscription running? If so, this will have to finish. You can't make changes to your location while Premium is running.

  4. Click on "Google Pay". Complete the Google Pay confirmation prompt to subscribe. Your debit/credit card should already be preloaded (add one if not). If requested for an address, please use your Australian address (new Spotify accounts - family plan sign-ups).

If you get an error, trying clicking the "change plan" option and re-select your plan. Muck around with it a little… Turn VPN on or off etc.

  5. Fly back home and turn off your VPN. YOU'RE DONE! WOOO! Enjoy your savings :)

Part 3 - Family Members (Family plan only)

  1. On the main account (plan manager), go to: https://www.spotify.com/tr-tr/account/family/ to obtain an invite link. Ensure the address listed is your Australian address (DO NOT use a Türkiye address)

  2. Get a family member, friend, bf, gf, or whatever person to accept that link. When requested, enter in the same address as listed in Step 1.

Error? "You need to live at the same address? It looks like you’re trying to join Premium Family from a different country. Premium Family is only available for family members that live together. Try again when you’re at the same address."

Simple solution - go to the relevant Spotify account on a web browser and check what country is selected. If it's Türkiye, you're good to go. If it's Australia or another country, connect to a VPN server in Türkiye, then refresh the page, click the dropdown and change it to Türkiye. Accept the invite again and it should work. You can turn off VPN after this.

Instructions – Method #2 (If you want to use your Virtual Türkiye Mastercard)

Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard REQUIRED

Please read the following instructions carefully. If you already have a Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard via OlduBil, proceed with the following instructions. If you do not have a Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard, STOP HERE and see how to get one here in the instructions section (Part 1 and Part 2): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/784047. I'm in the process of making a wiki page on the Türkiye-based Virtual Mastercard via OlduBil, so stay tuned!

Notes: The Spotify sign up pages may be in Turkish (which is easily navigatable if you have some common sense). Feel free to translate the page to English otherwise.

Part 1 – Subscribing to Spotify Premium

  1. Log in to Spotify (VPN off), or make a new account (VPN off).

  2. Turn on VPN and connect to a server in Türkiye (see Notes section for suggestions) and leave it on for the remainder of the steps below.

  3. Go to the Spotify Premium plans page.

  4. Scroll down and select the plan you want. Proceed to pay with your Turkey-based Virtual Mastercard. If requested for an address, please use your Australian address (new Spotify accounts - family plan sign-ups).

  5. Fly back home and turn off your VPN. YOU'RE DONE! WOOO! Enjoy your savings :)

HELP POINT: Because the popup payment windown cannot be translated to English, here are screenshots of the process in the following order: (1), (2), (3)

Part 2 – Family Members (Family plan only)

ISP Notes (Important)

  • If you currently have a Spotify Premium subscription, simply cancel the subscription and you'll be able to resubscribe via Türkiye. If the current subscription is a family plan, simply cancel the subscription and once you resubscribe via Türkiye (do not let the subscription expire), the entire family system will remain intact and no futher changes will be necessary.

  • Most VPN services will connect to Türkiye, unlike India. Those include NordVPN, Private Internet Access (PIA), free Windscribe Chrome extension (recommended), free UrbanVPN Chrome extension (recommended), ExpressVPN, etc. If one doesn't work, use another VPN.

    • If you're using Windscribe and it shows different currencies: keep turning the windscribe on and off. Each time you don't get TL, turn it off and on, then refresh the Spotify sign up page. You'll eventually land on TL. Go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/ each time you turn it off/on and see if you land on Istanbul.

FAQ

Q: Will I need to turn VPN on everytime I listen to Spotify?
A: No! You no longer need to have VPN on every time you use Spotify Premium. VPN is only required for sign up. After sign up, use Spotify without a VPN.

Q: I got charged a different rate compared to the prices on this post. What happened?
A: Due to foreign exchange rates constantly fluctuating, prices will differ by several cents each month

Q: I have an existing Spotify account, can I use the same email?
A: Definitely!

Q: Is signing up to Spotify Turkey going to affect my Spotify library/catalogue?
A: After setting up this sub, you may or may not notice the Spotify catalogue/recommendations may be weird with brand new regional music, etc… but your Spotify catalogue will adjust to what you’re listening to and soon it will look like nothing ever happened

Q: GST/VAT and Tax related questions?
A: Don't worry, there really isn't any tax you need to worry about.

        • Thank you! Did exactly as you said and Google sent me an email about 4 Hours later saying they have fixed the payment issue. I just tried subscribe and it was successful

          • +2

@shadywrx: Glad it helped! Hopefully helps others having this problem!

    • share the prompt, thank you, to clarify you contacted Google AU saying you were trying to subscribe and failed, any mention of moving to Turkey?

      • See above. I just said payment to spotify via google pay failed but bank told me a temporary hold has been successful. No mention of turkey.

        • On google chat now and they asked me to confirm which country I'm currently in. Told them Turkey so will see how it goes

Edit: Got escalated to another person and reached the same conclusion as the poster above. Now I just have to wait a few hours and see what the result is.

          • @quietsarcasm: Did the same thing, but had to tell them I was currently in Turkey.

Now I got another email asking me to verify payment information by taking a picture of the front of the card and a piece of ID.

If I give them either they'll know I'm Australian.

            Any tips appreciated.

            • @maxdeals505: Got the same email asking to verify but haven't looked at it yet. We might be cooked

  • Update:
I received an email from Revolut saying that the transfer has completed. 5 hours later and i can see the funds in my Oldubil account! Note that i did this transfer yesterday at 7pm AWST so it may just be a waiting game.

Please do not transfer any funds using Wise\Revolut until the OP gives the go ahead…

    • @mnemonic9 was your oldubil a new account or did you transfer before? If it's old account and you've transfer before that may be allowed. For new accounts it's now a waiting game to see if it'll work.

Wise apparently only takes a few hrs, it's been 24hrs for me. Revolut had been 2 days. I'll give it a week and see if it works. The label when you click "deposit money" doesn't sound too promising though :(

      • 24 hours exactly for me via Wise… not looking good….

      • New account created 15 minutes before transferring from Revolut. That was my first transaction too.

  • Anyone else getting no google play option?

  • I can't get this to work. I am using method 1. Have set up a new payment profile under Turkey and got Spotify to show in Lira etc but I cannot get Google Pay to display. I only have Credit payment. I have also unlinked my Google acccount and created a new Turkey account and am still having the same issue. No Google Pay

    • Are you connected to VPN in Turkey?

  • +1

Has anyone managed to overcome the "this subscription isn't available in your Google play country" error?

I have made a new Google account set to turkey but this keeps coming up.

    • Tried another device and removed every other account.

      • Yeah I figured that might do it. Thanks!

        • Hopefully all goes well, I'm up to the "use another payment instrument" stage.

    • Set your spotify account country to Turkey, that'll solve it

  • +2

    I'm getting

Error - Google Play purchases not supported in your country. Unfortunately you will not be able to complete purchases. Got it.

I have both Google Play account and Spotify set to Turkey and using VPN.

Any suggestions as to what's going wrong?

    • Remove every single other account on the device, then clear cache.

Even after solving that I have payment issues so best of luck !!!

      • Thanks for the suggestion but I've tried that. Still no luck. Very frustrating.

    • Set your spotify account country to Turkey, that'll solve it

      • Yeah, done all that. It's not obvious to me what's wrong. There's something else that's not covered in the general instructions causing this I think.

I think it's a typo, but the instructions say to use Google Pay but the option that comes up is Google Play.

    • I had the same issue. But the problem is that not every vpn connects to turkey IP even if you select turkey in the region. Use VPN like nord, surfshark. I used nord and it worked perfect for me. If you are using any other VPN, you should check your IP location before trying the payment, if ur IP location is in Turkey you should be fine.

  • Spotify says "Something Went Wrong" and refuses to process the transaction, even though I followed all the steps. My google account has it's country set to turkey, my spotify account also does, and everything else seems to be working, so it's clearly a problem with google pay? I'm really not sure what to do from here, has anyone found a fix to this issue?

  • +1

Did anyone find some of the songs in playlists missing after switching? Worried about licensing being different ie certain artists missing

  • also FYI, if spotify says your country is not allowed to use Google pay, its because your spotify country is set to Australia, go to your spotify profile settings to fix it

so i transferred 30 aud yesterday and then 30 today both didnt go through , came back to double check instructions , only just now seen transfers are no longer accepted , 60 bucks down the drain i guess.

    • I did it yesterday. I was waiting for my $30aud to come in. But I won't see it again :(

      • I emailed Oldubil request refund with receipt of transfer from wise. will see what they say and let you know.

        • i emailed them this morning and they got back to me pretty quickly. Just need to attach a receipt of the transfer (if you're using Wise, must be the receipt PDF not a screenshot of the transaction) & phone number.

Funds have cleared after providing this info.

          • @stemcellsss: I also had this experience. Emailed them about 6 hours ago, sent pdf wise transfer receipt, and now have my funds in my OlduBil account.

    • Hope they find another way to top up oldubil card, otherwise i wonder if there is a way of deloading it back to revolut account….

    • likewise, transferred a few days ago and still waiting for the money to come through :( double checked everything and certain everything is correct

      • As above. Email [email protected], provide transfer receipt, and the funds should be credited to your account.

        • Can confirm emailing and providing receipt to [email protected] worked for me.

Sent through wise on 25th July 9pm AEST prior to update.

For those not seeing Google Pay as a payment option after folllowing the steps.
I found I was able to get it to appear by closing Spotify completely, and opening it from within Google Play Store, (when signed in with the account you've set the payment method)
It sometimes still doesnt work, but around an 80% success rate.
I'm still stuck though, managed to get as far as payment, but then had a payment error. I can see suggestions to message Google so might give that a try!

I found theres a few country settings, one in Google, one in Spotify (web browser), and then making sure to leave family groups.

Going to try later today with an old phone no longer in use, might have more success!

    • Nice tricks! In regards to Google Payment error, try this

      • +1

For anyone who can't get into Google Pay. I was able to replicate it a few times to get in successfully.

        1. Remove Spotify cache from inside the application (settings>scroll down>clear cache/downloads cache/storage
        2. Remove Google Play cache (Android>Settings>Apps>Google Play>Storage>Clear Cache / Clear Storage)
        3. Remove Google Play Services (via settings; as above)
        4. Clear recently used applications
        5. Force Stop Spotify (Android>Settings>Apps>Spotify)
        6. IMPORTANT!: Either … Click 'App Details in Store' for Spotify to go into the store page for Google Play; and access via THAT link. OR - Go via Google Play application and manually search it in the store. Ensuring you're logged in with the user who has the Google Pay profile set up. (not home screen / app screen)

I am also trying with the PC Bluestacks method. (recent apps button is on top; clear RAM on the side for good measure; and it is otherwise all the same process) NOTE: I also got stuck, by not allowing admin privileges on Bluestacks; because I have never used it before; so just FYI.

However; I still can't get payment through - assuming Google Pay > Bank issue - but at least getting this far, waiting for Google email support to get to me.
"Your payment didn't go through. Please try a different payment method or try again later [OR-PMSA-05]'

        • Finally got payment through as well! Bank had blocked the transaction; advised me to put australian address details in for the card registered to Google Pay; then got an instrument message. Google Pay had to unblock that one (as per above suggested method above); and then voila! Subscribed successfully!

          • @Oipjo: Hi there,
I followed your steps and now I have the option to pay for Premium directly through Spotify (which takes me to credit cards) or using my Google Play account.

When I continue with Google Play it tells me my subscription is not available in my Google Play Country.
I have the VPN set to Turkey.
I have Spotify set to Turkey.
I have set the credit card associated with this Google Play user to Turkey.
Google Play country profile is Turkey.

            Any thoughts?

            • @nuguns17: I found that a few times trying to complete payment.
Issue would be fixed by setting Google Play profile to Turkey, and Spotify (logged in via web browser) set to Turkey.

I would suggest that it is likely then, that the VPN hasn't landed at Turkey (several I tried were all pretty flaky; landing in Syria, or France, . Check on https://whatismyipaddress.com/; and confirm it with a secondary site; i.e. https://nordvpn.com/what-is-my-ip/

Once you can select google pay, and get to the screen to select your card; I had turned off VPN to complete final payment steps.

            • @nuguns17: Did you resolve this @nuguns17 ?

I am in the exact same situation as you. Confirmed my IP was set in Turkey, Spotify 100% in turkey. Google account is Turkish, w/ Turkish address + card saved in the account with Turkish address.

              • @rizzzzzle: Hey man, having the exact same trouble. Did you by any chance find a solution to this?

Thank you so much, I tried from a Pakistan's account got spotify premium for like 15 aud for a year. Thanks again.

    • Amazing :)

    • How’d you get it from Pakistan? A VPN and pay with your Aussie card?

    • Can you explaint how you get it working with Pakistan account?
Did you use some virtual mastercard or something?

  • Can someone please clarify the risk of doing this with my primary Google Play account. I am not part of a Google Family set-up, it is just me.

    • Can't go back to Australia Google play for 365 days.

    Hi OP

Not sure if this Oldubil workaround was your idea or if you copied it from someone else - either way it was genius.

Oldubil now not accepting payments from mobiles with a GSM starting with anything other than +90 (Turkey mobiles) have you or anyone else tried getting a virtual Turkish +90 mobile number?

I know some virtual number services are free, but I am not sure how secure or good those are. Others are paid.
I havent tried it, and a paid one would add to the monthly expense you incur, but at the same time it might still be worth it if it lets you continue to use Oldubil.

    • Hi @TheCandyMan2020

Not sure if this Oldubil workaround was your idea or if you copied it from someone else - either way it was genius.

Initially I did a Google search and found it on Google. At the end as I was finishing the Xbox guide, I saw other bargain websites also having a guide. I made a huge mistake on my guide where I made everyone buy an extra month for no reason which I apologised for. This should be enough information for you to decide if I copied off others or not :)

At the time, most OzBargainers (and obviously myself) didn't have any issues. If you do need a Turkish number, a reliable service (althought paid) is PingMe Second Phone Number App

      Thanks

      • Oldubil's error message for me (account created around 30 June 2023) when I try to Transfer Money to Oldubil says:

Accounts that register other than GSM starting with +90 (the country code for Turkey) can not transfer money due to regulations.

I guess my question is, if I register a new account with a Turkish number (from Pingme or similar) will I then be able to successfully transfer via WISE/Revolut or will I receive a new error?

I would say Oldubil had some of the banks that were ozbargained contact them (and/or the Turkish regulator) and as a result have implemented this non-Turkish mobile registered account ban….

        • I know what’s up. You’re reading the wrong thing.

What you want is depositing money, not transferring money. The error you’re seeing is a warning that you cant transfer money out of OlduBil into another OlduBil account or another Australian bank account unless you have a Turkey number etc etc.

They’re still accepting deposits, but I have to caution that due to the warning as stated in the post updates, pls don’t do anything at this moment while we find out what’s happening

  • Has anyone got to the payment part with amount being in Lira and on Turkish site through vpn then paid with Aussie card (don’t have google pay or any android device, doesn’t work on pc either)? What happened?

    • I had the same issue. But the problem is that not every vpn connects to turkey IP even if you select turkey in the region. Use VPN like nord, surfshark. I used nord and it worked perfect for me. If you are using any other VPN, you should check your IP location before trying the payment, if ur IP location is in Turkey you should be fine.

  • Can't get it to work after trying to pay with google pay. I cleared the cache on my google play and created a brand new account in Turkey. Not sure what's going wrong.

  • Anyone got the Google Play method working today?
Getting this same as Cliche Guevara above.

Error - Google Play purchases not supported in your country. Unfortunately you will not be able to complete purchases. Got it.

    • Got it working - see below

  • Quick question, I've been on student plan so it won't let me pick the student plan in TR. I've just picked the normal individual plan in TR for now and I will switch it back to student after it's switched to individual?

  • Having trouble adding a my wife's account to the premium family account.
I get the you need to be at the same address error because the account is set to Aus.
I can't change my wife's account location to Turkey. On attempting to I get the error "For your protection we are unable to process your request at the moment. Please try again later."
    Anyone had a similar issue?
I am definitely connected to a VPN when trying to do this (I use PIA)

Possible reasons why I'm thinking I get the error:
    1. it's because the wife's account is connected to Facebook
    2. the fact that she recently cancelled her premium individual (Aus) plan on that account. The premium membership ended 25/7
    3. VPN issue?

She wants to keep all her playlists/data so very much prefer to not make a new account for her.

    • I've got a similar issue with my wife's account (which is connected via FB). When I got to edit profile I change change the location to Turkey (connected via PIA) but the email address field is blank and I am unable to update it (error is email address is already taken)

If I put a new email address the error is For your protection we are unable to process your request at the moment. Please try again later.

      • Yup, exactly the same screen in using and seeing. Hopefully someone has an answer

        • I ended up creating a new account for her

          • @tarken: Did it work for you by creating a new email account? I am having the same issue with Preimum Duo plan where I am trying to invite my wife into my duo plan

            • @vinsontan: Yes I was able to change country to Turkey with a new account.

              • @tarken: Do you mean you create a new spotify account for your wife?

                • @vinsontan: yeah new Spotify account and then transferred the playlists from old to the new

      • I am having this issue since Chrome has ad blocker, once I use Firefox that has no ad blocker I can change my email

  • Anyone found a workaround to fund Oldubil via bank transfer ?

Managed 2 transfers with Revolut. 8pm last night cleared this morning. 5am this morning just cleared (13 hours).

    • Interesting… Shame my limit only resets in 5 days or I'd have yolo'ed 2750 lira on it

Edit: Wise transfer no go (48 hours and waiting)

Wow thought I would never see my $30 again. Then bang wise transfer using Garanti Bankasi yesterday arrived today in oldubil. So happy.

    • Same here!

    • Nice work. I'm still waiting for my Wise… 48 hours now (Revolut came through tho).

    • Yep also transfer late yesterday and arrived tonight

  • I also created a new wise and oldubil account on the 26th and transferred from wise at 7am. Funds didnt clear until this arvo after i emailed them my transfer receipt and provided my australian number 0061######…

I have enuf in there for 12 months so hopefully they ease the transfer requirements in the future.

    • In case this helps anyone.

Cancelled my spotify, expired 2nd august. Family plan.
Went with option 2 using oldubil. Successfully resubbed in Turkey around 31st July.

Account location was set as Australia and today upon checking my location in spotify was automatically updated to Turkey. Non of my family users reported any issues.

  • I guess timing is everything.
Set up Wise and Oldubil Monday morning. Transfer went through around 5pm. ;)

Ok, so I think I figured out the issue with the Google Play method. I managed to get the 12-month individual premium sub for $22.23 AUD.

I had a thought that going through the Spotify app to get premium, it's gunna use Webview or Chrome as it's in-app browser. I did the following:

    • Deleted all app data for Webview, Chrome, Play Store, Play Services, Spotify (cuz cookies n cache n shit, y'know?)
    • Removed ALL Google accounts other than the account with the Turkish profile (I checked Play Store and Payments Account to verify both Turkey)
    • Turned off any private DNS (adguard)
    • I used urbanVPN app to get onto Turkish VPN - Note: I noticed the "Safe browsing" option was turned off. Not sure if that helped.
    • Loaded up Spotify, logged in (WITH VPN ON)
    • Followed the main guide from Step 3.

    Proof of sub: https://pasteboard.co/24U6WAdhPpOA.jpg | Payment: https://pasteboard.co/P0HGPG0FgDW2.jpg

PIA to have to reload all my accounts back onto device but I saved a shit ton of $'s on Spotify for the year. I'd love if someone could replicate my success to ensure it's a solid method for others. Cheers.

Amazing - thank you w33w00! This finally worked after days of trying. Followed your steps, only difference was restarting my phone after removing other Google accounts (can't hurt right), and for the VPN I used NordVPN (using the free trial). Agree that it was worth the hassle for the savings but was getting pretty close to giving up! Now to add family members…

      • Thanks for giving it a hot crack, mate! I am glad it worked for you. Just hoping it works for more people 100% confirm it's a viable solution.

    • Hey, I followed your instructions - delete cache for chrome, Spotify, Google play store, play services, removed all other Google acct except the brand new one that I made with Turkey VPN with a turkey profile, restarted my phone, turned on VPN immediately, accessed Spotify via play store. Google pay is still not an option. @.@ sorry, but not working for me. I hope OlduBil will resume foreign bank transfer soon, the money in that VCC won't last me too many months.

      • Did you clear data of Webview as well? Lots of apps use it for in-app web browsing. It may be holding data that's preventing you from proceeding.

I hope you can sort it out! Let me know how you go.

        • +1

I did it again, cleared data of Webview as well. Not working. :( Hopefully other people have better luck.

@Himesama21: Hi Himesama21, if you haven't already, try clearing not only the cache but also all app data for all those apps. Hope it ends up working for you.

This worked for me. Not sure what was the kicker but cleared cache of Play, Chrome, Spotify and Urban VPN. Deleted all other Google accounts. Used an existing account but it was set to USA so had to remove that and add Turkey.

    • Thanks heaps for posting! I got past the error I was having (Google Play purchases not supported in your country). Still can't pay as Google says I need to "secure my account" but that's a google side error. Turned on 2FA and everything still no go, but lets see, maybe just need to wait a bit.

      • +1

Fixed it by going on the subscription page VPN off then completing purchase on Aussie wifi.

No luck here, "Google Play purchases are not supported in your country."

    • No luck here, still coming up with Subscription not available in your "Google Play country" even though I followed all the steps, and my country is set to Turkey.

  • Just a question for anyone here or OP - I managed to sign up to a family plan. It's now asking me to set my home address to invite people. Should I use my Turkey address or it doesn't matter at this point?

edit: don't worry. added the Aust address but needed to change my country to Turkey with a VPN as per OP instructions.

Transfer via Wise is definitely a lottery. Mine still hasn't come through. Almost 3 days. Much safer with Revolut transfer.

Hi mate, don't worry it's quick and easy to solve…

Send a (polite please*, concise) email to: [email protected] with these details…

(From the 2 pages of your Wise transaction record, DL from your Wise app)
      1. MUST include the exact TRY value of the transaction (ie after wise fee), and which local Oldu partner bank acct received it (eg Garanti, Vakif etc).
      2. AND attach that 2 page pdf transaction record. This essentially includes the transfer hand-off between the 2 TR intermediary local banks (eg Birselk Odeme on behalf of Wise; and Garanti or any of the other TR local bank receiving on behalf of Turk Elektronik). It will also show that you included the wallet ID card number in the reference field. They have to find this transaction manually, so make it easy for them. If you're lucky (and polite) but forgot your wallet ID they may also be able to locate the transaction with the intermediary bank details.
      3. Also include your GSM registration number for the wallet / account. Preferably send from the email account if you have registered it with you wallet.

      * I reckon you would be polite anyway given you've been patient, this is meant for those impatient folks screaming about being scammed but not including key details when they make these international multi-party transactions.

I've been on Oldu for a while and had 2 transactions unwritten after 3 bank business days. (Within TR bank hours) Both my emails got reply success complete within 5mins, both had my $ arrive to Oldu within 20mins. I suspect all the folks writing comments that Oldu told them "to go jump / talk to other bank" and "oMfG I've been scammed" haven't actually provided enough details to locate the transaction and expect Oldu to find their miscellaneous unidentifiable transaction among an absolute sea of them.

Thank you! Will definitely give it a go. :)
