Notes

  • Minimum $50 spend per transaction.
  • Discount also applies to postage.
  • A maximum discount of $100 applies to each transaction (Transactions totalling at least $666.67 including postage will give you the maximum $100 discount).
  • Up to 3 transactions per person.
  • Payment must be done through PayPal.
  • Discount can be applied to items sold by overseas sellers, as long as you checkout on eBay.com.au.
  • You can purchase multiple items (even from different sellers) in one transaction by adding them to your cart. However, make sure all items are in the same currency. Otherwise, you'll have to checkout in each currency separately and each currency you checkout with will count as a separate transaction.
  • PayPal transactions will show the full amount after the purchase. However, if you login to your PayPal account, find the transaction(s), and click details, you will see a 15% contribution from eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest. It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (Image courtesy of ezarc - Obtained from previous 15% off offer).
  • Items can be 'purchased' before the promotion starts (ie. Auctions ending before 10am Sunday). Payment is to be made during the promotion period with the coupon code applied at checkout.

          paypal is your friend

        • Can you tell me how this works, I bought some beats and I am feeling a bit nervous

        • how do we know the one we received is fake?

  • Wanting to add a Nitecore i4 battery charger to my growing ebay cart. Prices vary b/n $27 & $40 (Aus sellers). Anyone had any experience buying from the cheaper sellers? Could there be fakes out there? Many thanks in advance

    • i paid about $15 for my genuine i2 from china (not on ebay). i'm not quite sure what im trying to tell you haha, but i think you should be fine

  • Grabbed a shaver and asus dsl-ac68u, saved 64.79 with the %15. Tried the cash rewards for the first time also but I haven't got any indication that it worked?

    • It generally can take a while, you'll probably see it after 1 or 2 days.

    • I made a eBay purchase Sunday ~1pm
Received the confirmation email from Cash Rewards around 1.20pm today (just over 24hrs after purchase)

    • Ok great, will wait and see then.

  • Silly question but I assume I should also be able to use this for items to be bought via bid process, and not just Buy It Now items, so long as the auction ends today and I pay today ?

    • +4

Yes and you have until Tuesday night now.

  • +3

LOL. Just got an email from dwi about my 1+1:

    Thanks for your order.
We are afraid due to a number of orders that have been received during the promotion period, we are afraid that there will be a delay 1-3 working days delay. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

    Thank you!

same… to be expected considering they sold 100+

      • I'm guessing that they have sold more in the last 24 hours than they would in a month?

I'll most likely buy a phone from them too, if I can make up my mind on which model.

        • Same for a Galaxy S5.

    • are these phones any good?

  • +1

Any good deals for high end ultrabooks?

    • Note quite Ultrabooks, but I can suggest either this:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toshiba-P50T-Quad-Core-2-4Ghz-15-…?

      or this:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ASUS-Transformer-Book-T100-10-1-I…

otherwise I generally wait for Shopping Express to do an amazing price on HP Ultrabook clearances.

      • +1

also just my 2c chiming in, while the specs may be good always worth it to try and see the model in person and test the build quality of it, exterior, trackpad, and most importantly the keyboard keys - I got a toshiba and after some consistent intense use for uni the paint chips off the keys and it's ugmo

      • That Toshiba P50T actually looks like an awesome price…

edit: However, some of these look pretty good too: http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=to…

        • just be careful.. a lot of the cheaper P50Ts listed don't seem to have the GT745M gfx but only IGP.. and also some of the ones that do are refurbished where as the one that giggles posted is new.. one last note, these P50Ts were $1039 delivered from DSE + OW 1 year ago…

  • Does anyone know if there is any compensation for sellers who had listings that ended last night when the site was down? I see that the 15% off has been extended til Tuesday but just wondering if they have done anything for sellers… or is it just too bad?

    • +2

"For a few hours last night, some of our eBay users around the world experienced issues when visiting our site and contacting customer service. As of 10:45 am PT today (3:45AM AEST), the vast majority of site functionality had been restored. We are sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused you. In the next day or two, eBay teams will be in touch directly with affected sellers to provide them with additional information."

      • +2

In other words, to say sorry again. That's probably about it. :(

It's a shame that they tried to regain cred with this sale, yet lost twice as much.

The rise of China continues (alibaba)

      • Great thanks for that! So basically they're not specifying anything at the moment…

        • +1

          The 'sorry' that doesn't care…

I'm more excited about what the postman will bring tomorrow (bangs knees).

      • "We are sincerely apologise"

I hope Kogan does a deal with their MACBOOKS!

lol, just watched The Simpsons where they said "so it comes with support I have to pay for that I could find on Google for free?".

  • edit nevermind

  • Those are from cash reward:
Do NOT add products to the ebay wishlist and purchase/bid over 24 hours later - will result in you not earning Rewards.

DO NOT click on advertising banners or sponsored links on the eBay website – this may result in you not earning Rewards.

DO NOT visit other websites (including Google) whilst browsing on eBay – this may result in you not earning Rewards.

    are those "DO NOT" serious?
Has anyone had problem due to those thing above?

    • +1

Do NOT add products to the ebay wishlist and purchase/bid over 24 hours later - will result in you not earning Rewards.

i bid and won an item on friday, paid sunday and got the rewards email today (monday)

    • +6

      It really isn't too hard
To keep it safe I just add everything to cart normally, and then go through cash rewards to ebay and checkout whatever is in the cart. Works 100% of the time.

      • so you check out everything all at once?

        • +1

speaking of checking out everything at once, i seem to be having a problem with that. i won an auction this morning and wanted to add another item to make the min. $50 (same currency) but checkout will only let me pay for one or the other, instead of letting me combine the two transactions.

          what's going on?

        • @tdw: I've never checked out everything at once so really I don't know :(

        • @legelas: no worries. spotted this on the right hand side of the shopping cart page

Q: Can I pay for items from more than one seller or different types of transactions in one payment?
A: If items from different sellers in your Shopping Cart all accept PayPal, you can pay for all the items in the eBay Shopping Cart with a single payment. You can also pay for different types of transactions (won Auction-style listings, Fixed Price and Best Offer items) all at the same time.

i'm definitely not able to do this. grr.

        • @tdw:

Can anyone confirm if is okay to place a order of several items from different sellers, then check out?

I know it has to be same currency.
I'm sure people have said yes in this post, so I'm wondering why there is a issue with TDW order.

        • @tdw:
I assume its the same currency?
Did all the sellers accept paypal?

        • @OrbDaggerZ:
i actually did the several items/different seller/different auction format/same currency transaction on sunday. it all showed up in cart, code worked, everything went as expected.

          something must have changed..

        • @tdw:

          Damn, I hope not.
Have you tried contacting ebay for why you had/have this issue?

Anyone else having this problem recently?

        • +1

@OrbDaggerZ: i'll sleep on it and contact them tomorrow :)

        • @tdw:

Multiple currencies is the only thing I can think of

        • @zzyss:

          ??

      • That's much better than doing the retarded crap they advised.

I had stuff in my cart, removed it, added to wishlist…went to site…added to cart…

Worked for the first set of things, not for the second :| Meh it was $2 anyway.

  • code still works for me
edit: just read that its been extended

  • -6

Sale seems to be extended until midnight tonight (16/08/14)

Op please update all the Ebay related items.

    • +1

I just attempted to re-post this but got deleted as it's mentioned in this original post … and it's 16/09/14 btw

  • i went through paypal and checkout and got a message:

If your payment is declined for some reason, we’ll send you an email to let you know. You should then come back to your item(s) and try your payment again

What now, I have to wait!

EDIT: email received 2 mins later to confirm order went through

  • Any bargains on avoiding overdraw fee from Commbank?

LOL Didn't realise I didn't have enough money in my main account and went way over when all the Paypals direct debits came through. I transferred money right back in, hopefully CBA didn't notice (I'm sure they will though lol)

    • +3

it should be ok they usually give you about a day or two grace…ive done that a couple of times and as long as the money is back in there on the same day I haven't had a fee yet :)

  • I can't seem to pay using my Paypal account, it'll either say "timeout" or "error has occurred". Anyone else having this issue?

Have tried clearing cache/history, tried different browser/computer. Even tried on eBay app for iPad and still fails.

    • +1

After spending an hour with eBay and Paypal support, they fixed the problem by deleting all the bank accounts linked to my Paypal account. I was able to pay using credit card then. Just FYI for others that may encounter this payment issue.

  • Bought a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from a HK seller that now contacted me saying they will be sending open box as they always check if for quality assurance purposes regardless if I want this or not.
Here goes my 15% discount. Called eBay but their Indian support is clueless about this 15% anniversary thing.

    • +1

      I don't get it…?

      • Seller wants to send me likely a refurbished or open box item instead of new one. I want to cancel transaction. Seller is not very prompt in responding. I called eBay support and they have no clue about CELEBRATE15 and suggested me to open Paypal dispute. Also they suggested even if seller cancels transaction now I likely won't be eligible for a full discount if I buy another tablet. Hope it's more clear.

        • They send it without the packaging to save on postage costs.

        • +4

          @Danstar:
That may apply to some meaningless $2 item, but not a Samsung Tab S.
The specific purpose of the packaging is protect the device during transport.
If the seal is broken, it isnt new. Samsung do quality control, not some dodgy assed Hong Kong shop. Their reason is total bulldust.

        • @King Tightarse: However samsung may do their QA, but sometimes you may still get a dud.

Maybe you should contact the seller saying "I take 100% responsibility if the item arrives DOA, I will pay for the postage back to the seller as it is my fault since I didn't want the tablet to be checked prior to dispatch".

I think the seller just wants to ensure it works so they don't have to pay like over $30 for shipping back just in case it was a dud.

        • @lplau:
I understand what you are saying but the way I see it, once that seal on new tech gear is broken, it might as well be a refurb demo model etc. I would not consider it new. Especially if it is from from the expert bulldust artists selling electronics in Hong Kong.

        • @Danstar:

Ain't no hell no way I'd accept a tablet without it's packaging that was sold to me as brand new
zbone, was this intention made clear in the listing?

        • @lplau:
They explicitly mention in the description that if it's DOA the buyer pays for shipping back. I mentioned it to them and said I am happy to take on the risk but haven't heard back since.

        • @tchi6:
Item condition is Brand New. I hadn't seen anything implying it comes without packaging.

    • +1

Called eBay but their Indian support is clueless about this 15% anniversary thing.

      why even mention it?
any discount is irrelevant in your 'issue'

      • Because the 'issue' is the lost opportunity to buy a tablet at bargain price. I don't sweat over using eBay and Paypal to get my money back.

        • To be clear (because I am not sure what you were asking the support people), what would you like eBay to do to resolve your "issue" of a "lost opportunity"?

Perhaps give you a 15% off voucher, that runs longer than the birthday promotion, so you can buy a tablet from another seller at 15% off ?
Unfortunately I dont think eBay will extend the global promotion for you, because you had a falling out with a seller.

Why not just buy a tablet from another seller before midnight tonight and get the 15% off, and claim a refund on the first tablet via PayPal ?
Unless you have already used up your 3 codes.. in which case I understand your frustration at the first seller mucking you around.. but its not eBays fault, I doubt they would give you a magic 4th discount.

  • -2

can I get the discount if I buy a Ticket to a theme park? terms and conditions says not valid for gift cards or "vouchers".

  • Sorry just want to check I'm reading this right I can use the Code 3 times in 3 transactions to a maximum of $100 discount each so I could in theory I could save $300 on a spend of approx $2000

    • you need to spend about $666 to get a discount of 100..

      • +11

Yes indeed, Satan rewards those that show allegiance.

      • So around $1998 in total (with 3 separate transactions) Pre discount, which you would pay $1698.30 after discounts.
        I hope I got that right,lol.

  • is it easy to stack coupons? I have a $50 off coupon i want to use as well… I guess it would make sense to use after the 15% off us applied?

    • According to the T&Cs, you can't stack codes. You're free to give it a go though.

  • Sorry if it's been asked but can you use the 'make offer' button and if they accept or you accept a counteroffer can you still purchase using the cart with other items and the code applying to everything?

    • +5

Yeh, did it yesterday. Once your offer is accepted, don't pay right away from the window that pops up. Continue shopping and add items to cart. Once ready you can pay all at once

      • Awesome thanks!

      • Correction: Once you're ready, log onto cashrewards

  • anyone have this problem?

on the 3rd attempt of entering the code, the page crashed and i wasn't able to complete through paypal.

when i get back in, it tells me that i've already entered the code 3 times and won't let me proceed.

i've tried to get in ocntact with ebays fb page but with no luck with a reply

anyone else have the same issue?

    • +1

      Use the eBay online chat

      • +4

ok, spoke to ebay, nothing they can do regarding payment.

spoke to paypal, and the operator was really nice and although couldn't do anything about the not workign code, was able to credit me the difference first, and then i was able to pay afterwards

so all in all, happy days

        thank you ebay!

  • In need of quick clarification. Am I able to make a single checkout with items purchased from different sellers?

    • +3

      yes

      • Thanks

        • does the 15% off still work if those individual items come in under $50 each?

        • +3
  • -1

any decent ipad deals out there?

  • -1

The offer has been extended if anyone is interested

    • +2

      Extended again?

      • +2

        Yup extended till tonight

        • +6

          whoooosh

  • hey guys,

Just wondering - good reputable seller of a powerbank? I know banggood do xiaomi and other ones that are good, are there any ozbargain approved powerbanks on ebay?

  • +8
    • +1

What the hell????? AND it has 1 bid.
It reminds me of the crap listings/projects on Kick Starter now.

    • Shipping is too expensive

    • +3

To be fair, it's a nice looking apple.

    • it'll get eaten in transit lol
