Notes

  • Minimum $50 spend per transaction.
  • Discount also applies to postage.
  • A maximum discount of $100 applies to each transaction (Transactions totalling at least $666.67 including postage will give you the maximum $100 discount).
  • Up to 3 transactions per person.
  • Payment must be done through PayPal.
  • Discount can be applied to items sold by overseas sellers, as long as you checkout on eBay.com.au.
  • You can purchase multiple items (even from different sellers) in one transaction by adding them to your cart. However, make sure all items are in the same currency. Otherwise, you'll have to checkout in each currency separately and each currency you checkout with will count as a separate transaction.
  • PayPal transactions will show the full amount after the purchase. However, if you login to your PayPal account, find the transaction(s), and click details, you will see a 15% contribution from eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. The total needs be 100% because the seller gets 100%. eBay just pays the 15% and you pay the rest. It should look something like this http://i.imgur.com/afbCvki.jpg (Image courtesy of ezarc - Obtained from previous 15% off offer).
  • Items can be 'purchased' before the promotion starts (ie. Auctions ending before 10am Sunday). Payment is to be made during the promotion period with the coupon code applied at checkout.
  • Don't forget to claim your 2% Cash Rewards cash back.
  • Or earn 2 Virgin Velocity Points for every $1 spent from Virgin Velocity.

Anyone know any legit SJ4000 ebay sellers?

  • Working on IE for me but not chrome

    • Just tried IE11 here and no difference won't work. IE, Firefox or Chrome all can not access eBay.

      • Yeah never mind- my mistake, just got all excited that it would open (as Chrome won't even do that), but I can't sign in :)

    • Confirmed for me, works in IE but not chrome.

  • Update: eBay - Down 6% Since The Apple Pay Announcement, And This Is Just The Beginning

EBay down 20% due to OzBargain…

Apple will rival PayPal in its core online payment business, with a one touch checkout feature.
We remain convinced that PayPal will lose share in online payments and will find it incredibly difficult to grow in physical transactions.
In a reasonable bear case, PayPal's valuation could be halved, leading to a -30% impact on eBay's stock price.

    • Ebay should hire coles to do the marketing for them

  • SO…..ebay is down? buy it now is fine. But when 'pay now' it's down?

  • +1

relax about paying… u have until 1159pm on Monday to pay.. just bid, win and sit back!

  • Users from the UK and other places in Europe reporting not being able to access eBay. See what i mean when it looks like it's a world wide access issue.

    can pay using ebay mobile/app.

    not web atm.

    • I can confirm ebay mobile app works, but no cart function. You may get signed out unexpectedly, but I got the purchase through after few attempts.

Use the coupon code at check out.

      Good luck.

  • I brought a Canon lens through eBay online and used cash rewards.I can confirm that it is working through the mobile browser along with cash rewards. The mobile app (Android) keeps signing me out.

  • Some weird theory, they are targeted by hackers Syrian Army or Lulzsec due to the birthday.

    • bought one thing…..whats next….

  • Are you guys still shopping at this time? XD

    • Yep its about 8pm where I am :)

      • 2:24am here!

  • +3

A warning…I already reached the limited of 3 items on my ebay account.
I went to use my sisters ebay account, but pay with my paypal account.
It seems to recognise that my paypal account has used the coupon code 3 times already and removes the discount.

    • Wow, so you have spent 2k already?

      • +2

He just said he's used the coupon three times, never said for the maximum discounts

    • It's tied to your pay pal account. You can register another.

  • +7

Spent 1.1k just now… said to myself yesterday I would not buy anything this time..

  • +1

Glad eBay is back up. Managed to go though CASHREWARDS and purchase 4 items from different sellers to bring the total over $50 so I could use the discount coupon. Saved me $10.95.

    • Doh! forgot to use Cash Rewards.. :(:(

      • +6

Same. I always forget it. Think i've used it once out of my last 100 purchases :(

        • +3

          There there, have a +1

  • +1

    Any good laptop under $400?

  • -4

PayPal is still showing full price for my items.

How long does it take to apply the discount in PayPal?

    • +2

Please read the OP before asking…

•PayPal transactions will show the full amount after the purchase. However, if you login to your PayPal account, find the transaction(s), and click details, you will see a 15% contribution from eBay plus your actual charge to your funding source which makes up the difference. • +1

        Thanks for all the negs.

I did read the OP, the details section doesn't show it.

I bought two other things that show it already but the one for the OnePlus One isn't showing a discount.

Bizarre thing, is I checked my confirmation emails and it is showing $340 as expected., but in PayPal it shows $399 (even in the "Details" section)

        • same issue here. Have purchased several items and when I checked out with the code, it showed a discounted amount. But today when I checked my Paypal, it shows that I am paying with full amount. No refund whatsoever.

Is that because my paypal account is in US?

Wanted to complain to ebay, but it says i have to wait for 45 minutes to talk to an online customer service. terrible ebay experience

    • Check paypal transaction and your credit card transaction. Discount has been applied and you have been charged discounted amount only.

  • +1
    • Hopefully people with deals ending when eBay was offline will get compensated for lost sales or if there items sold too cheap because people watching the deals wanted to bid could not do so. Since most of the time the price goes up just before the item is due to end from last minute bidder

      • I don't think they will. Sounds like they just get there fees reimbursed.

At the same time the seller can just tell the respective buyer the item is no longer for sale then re-list it

  • Is refurbished laptop with 30 days warranty high risk?

    • Probably not. If it craps out from a faulty part it will likely happen swiftly.
But then I am comfortable replacing hard drives, screens etc. myself. If I knew I would be paying for a repair if something went wrong I would be a little more cautious.

    • There are THAT many cheap new options, I see no point. Hell, I wouldn't buy a new one with 30 day warranty. Even cheap crappers come with 12mths.

They have little faith in the product, if all they'll risk is 30days cover.

  • -8

For who tried to listed and bought own items, How much maximum nett cash we can get from ebay?

    • +1

      3x transactions @ maximum $100 credit each = $300 total

    • +3

It's not worth it. Do your math. Fees are just less than 13% of the selling price.

    • +7

      Plus it is low-level scamming.
      Not good for your dignity.

    • +1

got it. yeah after 3x transactions, only about $60./ thats if ebay didnt caught you. ebay knows if you are using different ids from the same house (ip address)

      • +6

Not if one is via 3g and the others are DSL.

        • Just as ethical? I don't think many people would agree… Old ladies might be easier though.

        • @FabMan:

I was more making the comment that if you are just going to try and scam/steal money there are easier ways… clearly my point was missed though ;)

I still wonder why people think its ok to essentially commit fraud though (even if it is against the big bad eBay)

        • @SBOB: Faceless large corporation I suppose, I'm not keen on it myself.
