Tips:

  • Use "add to basket" if you are buying more than one item to minimise the number of times you use this coupon, while ensuring your basket holds less than $1,500 of items to avoid the $300 cap.
  • Do your research first. Some retailers/items may be overpriced, certain items will be cheaper elsewhere even without the 20% off.
  • As always don't forget 2% cash back from Cash Rewards. Help
  • Dick Smith is having their own sale on their site. It's always best to compare the prices between DSE eBay and the DSE website.

  • Blackberry Passport - GET!
You know how LONG ive been waiting for this to be anywhere near launch price again? At least 7 months!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnB1TgxgwEA

    • link / price ?

      • That youtube clip is pretty accurate :P
        $520

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BlackBerry-Passport-4G-LTE-32GB-B…

        • Ok, which version of Android does it run?

        • Gah. I was waiting for this to go below $600 for months now.

Can't wait so I got somethin else instead.

        • @stevarja:

It doesnt, but read on (please, there is a HUGE 'BUT')

At its core, it runs BBOS version 10.3.1
Much like Apple iOS it is its own operating system only on Blackberry.

In my unbias opinion its easily the best and most reliable OS.
Genuinely, I loved Symbian in its day, then moved to Android, the Windows 8 Phone, and now Blackberry. I was equally 'excited' for them all; just BBOS was the clear winner.

          Here is where the BUT works its way in;

It runs a full time (invisible) android emulator (I believe it was Jellybean last I checked).
This means, you have the entire Google Play store (provided by Amazon) for apps, AND the blackberry store.

It also has the most up to date\compliant HTML5 browser last I checked.
has its own Facebook, twitter, 4square (and everyting else) app; which is WAY better than the official ones; but also has access to 'the usual ones' if you prefer.

as far as I know, its the only device to have access to two different app ecosystems.
I get about 2.5 days battery from my Q10, with heavy use; passport battery is 40% bigger :D

If you wanted to try the OS without comitting to the flagship model, the Q10 is a STEAL with this deal
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BlackBerry-Q10-4G-LTE-SQN100-3-Wh…

Their new phones are rumored for November\December, so perhaps a cheap Q10 to try to OS, and "the latest" at the end of the year if you like it?

        • @coffeetoma:

You poor bloody thing, I honestly feel your pain.
I gambled waiting yesterday for the 10% to finish ($589) in hope for this 20% ($520).

I too was waiting for sub $500, but, $20 is more than worth no more stress and looking. Im excited!

        • @MasterScythe: Haha dude, relax, i was just kidding.

Yea BBOS was the sh1t back 7-8 years ago, but then Android(/corporate gmail) kicks in, and my tight ass boss doesn't feel paying for enterprise fee anymore for BB/Exchange, and the rest is history.

I wish all the best for BBOS, as more competition is always better for us consumer, but i don't think i'll even use the emulator in near future.

        • @stevarja:

BBOS10 did away with all fees and BIS\BES.
Its now a QNIX based operating system (like Android) and uses normal 3G\4G LTE.

It syncs flawlessly with Outlook, Gmail, and VPN services.

I also like that Dropbox appears as a folder in file manager.

And the emulator is 100% invisible, android apps just show up in app world, the only reason you know its emulated is because it has an 'A' (android) next to the app name. Average joe End users wouldn't know.

And best of all is Blackberry BLEND, which syncs emails, files, photos, calendars, from basically ANYTHING you use just by being on the same wifi.
I know other phones have Syncing, but nothing like Blends level of features and configuration.

          try it ;)

If windows phone or android offer a physical, capacitive swipe, keyboard; and more than 2 days battery life per charge, I'll come back to the other side. for now….. there's a clear winner. Their marketing team just sucks. No one's 'Trying them'.

        • @MasterScythe: You can't make me, you're not my boss! Well if you are, i wanna a raise!

        • @stevarja:
          You're fired

    • -1

I would think twice about getting a blackberry passport.
I got one 2 weeks ago, thinking it was the "shit" and thinking it will be better than my iphone 6 Plus

think twice…the keyboad is shit! I cannot type fast on it becaUSE Of the stupid layout of the SPACEBAR.
Also, read the reviews on crackberry…there is a stupid flaw which affects almost ALL passport users at some point in time and the phone needs to be sent back under warranty to fix it…GOOD LUCK with that if you are buying from KOGAN. It is a flaw in which you press a key and it double types that key. so you are constantly making mistakes while typing.
Also there is another fault in which over time, the screen will start lifting from the phone, again needing a warranty claim.

I'm trying to sell mine at the moment, biggest mistake of my life.

      • +1

Ive used one extensively, took me about a week to get used to the spacebar. Wasnt a big deal.

the double tap error has been well documented with the Q10, and is "mostly" fixed in the Q30\passport, its a simple DIY repair even if it did happen.

They also seem to have fixed it in software, a double tap now has a maximum rate; so say, 50ms is the fastest you're allowed to double tap. Its fixed all the double tap issues on my Q10.

I live on crackberry, consider the only tens of complaints, versus the tens of thousands sold, and the failure rates are low; at least yours got replaced under warranty.

Kogans warranty service has been PERFECT for me in the past,
        i've warrantied a few phones and a TV in the past, never an argument;
Can i ask what bad experiences you've had with Kogans warranty team?

  • So in an ebay sale like this who actually gives the 20% off? is it the retailer taking the 20% hit or is it ebay themselves?

    • -1

The 20% off discount is treated as an eBay voucher so it would be eBay taking the hit.

    • +1

Considering ebay charges 10% in fees, you'll probably find they take the hit 50/50. Considering most of the places raise their prices… it works out

      • It's not only that it's also all the other fees which eBay charges for the extras (extra insertions after free insertions have been used, feature fees, subtitle fees, subscription fees, listing upgrade features fees, promoted listings fees, Seller Manager Pro fee etc). For what eBay gets in fess they could easily afford to offer that 20% discount.

I think it's a case of those retailers hiking up their prices just cashing in on this since they know people would go crazy over a 20% off.

        • So would you get the normal price of TRS back instead of what you paid with 20% off?
          hmmm

        • @lfak: normal price on invoice

  • +1

i need a 60-65 inch tv best deal but best picture, no motion blur..
3d is rubbish and i dont need a smart tv… ideas?

    • +1

I just got a 55JU7500 from JB for a LOT less than I could find it anywhere else… it's a great TV but not the size you want. They also have this though:

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

It's the size you want, no 3D, you can turn motion blur off and the picture gets good reviews due to being a 4k panel and Samsung's upscale being one of the best out there. Also quadcore, so not sluggish like some more basic sets out there.

You can probably talk them down another couple hundreds too…

price of kindle paperwhite has been raised from $159 to $179 at DSE
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kindle-WiFi-Paperwhite-Next-Gen-/…

  • Of course. The one thing that I was interested in GoPro Hero4 from Kogan they've pushed the price up $60 since yesterday. Awesome.

    • Good Guys next best option at $380- im now considering the Hero4 Black on Kogan for $475- with discounts (20% and cashrewards)
$100- extra for the black version seems good?

      • it seems good

        • well i committed to it. gotta wait 12-15 work days though

  • +5
    • Damn cheaper than previous deal $68 from HN

  • Samsung SM-P350NZAAXSA Galaxy Tab A 8.0 w/S Pen WiFi 16GB NEW seems like a good deal
    $295 and then 20% off.
I want one but my wife didn't give approval, even with the good deal :(

    • Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" 16GB WiFi was going for a lot cheaper than that for $209 last week from Dick Smith. Given didn't come with a pen but that doesn't make up that price difference. You must have missed that deal.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/199148

      • The s-pen version costs $50 more than the non s-pen.
$295 with discount from DSE $45 off is still $250.
        $295 with 20% off is $236.
It's cheaper now than last week.

      • … and for the product you talk about, $249 less 20% is $199.20 < $209.

      • You could grab something better specced at that price though. Just saying.

        • Can you please give some suggestions (with an accurate stylus, as I intend on marking up drawings/isometrics)

edit: actually, don't worry about it, I won't get approval anyway :(

        • @adamadam: I was commenting on the wifi model. Something I've posted, Memo Pad 8, has better SoC and RAM than Tab A 8.0 and it's $199 delivered.

For S Pen model, it's hard to think of any models since there are limited number of models that came out with an active stylus support, let alone wacom. That said, even Galaxy Note 8.0 which was released in 2013 has better resolution that that. S-pen is the only sales point it has, other than that, it's worse than even Tab 4 in some regards. If you are seriously thinking about getting a tablet with wacom, wait for the newer note tablet, which have been rumoured since the release of Tab S or even Note 10.1 2013.

The new ASUS Memo Tab that's coming out seems to support an active stylus, not sure whether it uses wacom technology, but that's something to look into as well. Some Windows tablet with wacom, such as Vivotab Note was around $280 ish from COTD, which has better SoC and RAM (though it's Windows tablet, so you can't just compare spec alone).

EDIT: Now I think about it, Tab S 8.4 16GB WiFi is at $270 ish at DS eBay store with the code as well.

        • @AznMitch:
Thanks AznMitch :) I'll wait and see what comes out and then maybe I may have approval next time :D:D:D

        • Galaxy Tab S 8.4Gb is around $270 after discount? May I have the link please?

        • Thanks, I guess I'm too late. Out of stock anywhere close to me :(

    • +4

So wife is the deal breaker.

      • Yes, deals broken! :(

        • Get her something as well, it usually works.

        • @varunsic:
I bought her a tablet last time, that's why I can't buy one for myself.
She said "you can use mine", but wasn't happy when I started using it and then said "see, this is why I need my own"
          lol…. :D

        • +1

@adamadam: Haha classic. Exact situation happens at my place all the time.

        • @varunsic: Then it won't be a bargain! Do some sweet talk!

  • I am looking at buy a second GTX970 for sli gaming and I was wondering if anyone has ordered from Futu Online and recommend them?

    • +1

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from them including Gigabyte GTX970 g1
it is coming out to be cheaper than MSY

      • Is it worhmth getting the 980 over the g1 ?

        • +1

Depends on how much cash you have to spare, various reviewers over internet say that the minor performance increase doesn't justify the price. Unless you are getting 980 ti, which is expensive but very good. Check if you can do a SlI with 2 970's it should be a lot better than a single 980

        • @Professor Chaos: righto, my board won't be supporting SLI…

          980 is going for $600ish with kogan…

Probs get the cheaper card and wait for the HBM tech to mature before jumping on that…

  • Any good ps4 deals? Really wish Big W were doing this!

    • Not as good as the $87.20 delivered that it was going for last week from Futu Online, Shopping Express and ElectricBay on eBay. Futu Online obviously jacked up their price shortly before this 20% off discount sale.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/198581

Guys if you are buying it from Dicksmith online store, make sure to check their website first as they have a SELL-A-THON at the moment and I found some products cheaper than ebay store. I found "SONY Clock Radio AM/FM ICFCIB" for AU $39.98 on ebay store (about $31.98 with the 20% code), but it's only $23.35 in their online store.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SONY-Clock-Radio-AM-FM-ICFCIB-/25…

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/radios/sony-clock-radio-am-fm-ic…

few other radio clocks almost half price in dicksmith site compared to ebay.

    http://stores.ebay.com.au/Dick-Smith-Online?_nkw=clock+radio…

    http://search.dicksmith.com.au/search#w=clock%20radio

there may be many other products which might be cheaper on their website.

OP can you please update this information in your description so bargainers can be notified.

    • There are better deals there than eBay…

    • Agree with you mate. I just bought a 'SENNHEISER Stereo Over-Ear Headphones HD449' for $74 on DSE online store while on ebay it's $138.

    • +1

Dont forget to grab DSE gift cards from coles for 10% bonus credit before you buy from DSE direct (cant use gift cards on the ebay store)

  • Any decent deals on computer chair or NAS?

    • I checked for NAS, nothing special. Either prices are cheaper or comparable (after 20%) with Shopping express excluding shipping costs.

    • The hard drives are a couple of $ cheaper than MSY and free postage. Not a massive saving, but still a saving.

    • if you don't mind the red colour you can get this straight from dealsdirect site

      http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/high-back-neck-support-ergonom…

Yeah you have to pay for shipping but use "WELCOME10%" , got me a saving that paid for shipping

I had the black one in cart for $119 and seems a few people got it but they changed it back to $270
So I just decided to grab it from the site. Its red so it should go faster or just spray paint it black :-D

Shock horror! The dryer I wanted from The Good Guys, which was already on sale, didn't have a price rise… Awesome!

    • +2

I just bought a dryer this morning too with this deal!! I was also surprised the price didn't go up. Must not be a popular item so they couldn't be bothered upping the price lol

    • Which model out of curiosity? I'm in need of a washer but still decidied if I need a dryer.

      • I got the Fisher and Paykel DE8060P2 8kg condensing dryer. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fisher-Paykel-DE8060P2-8kg-Conden…

If it's something you're interested in, steer clear of the P1 version… Well you can get it, then call Fisher to get the new control board. We also have the F&P front loader WH8560P1, which 'mates' with this dryer. If you want both, and i think Fisher has some extra cash back deal, and wish to stack them (as you can't wall mount this dryer) you need to get the stacking kit from Fisher - part number 427976.

The cashback thingie for the washing machine + condensing dryer is detailed here: https://promotions.fisherpaykel.com/au/2015/laundry-rebate-m…

        • Awesome, thanks a bunch! I do need a washer also so I'll definitely look into it.

      • +1

Yep I got the F&P p2 like Romen

  • no cheap cellular ipads :(

Look back 2 pages I've already find the RAM
FUTUonline seems to be the best option
Alternative is Kogan no one else is selling

Having said that there is a deal on ram on Amazon someone posted check the new deals section not sure if it's sodimm

Also MSY is having a deal on the ssd which looks the best price better then this eBay deal

On a phone so can't link atm

        • @obe353:

the 2 8gb kingston sodimms from futu are both 1.5V.. the crucial one from kogan is 1.35V though

Having said that there is a deal on ram on Amazon someone posted check the new deals section not sure if it's sodimm

  • is this 6" Kindle worth it for $79?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Kindle-Touch-6-eReader-B00KDR…

Dont know too much about what the going price for these is, or if this is a good deal? Need one for overseas travel instead of lugging books around!

    • +5

You're better off getting one with a backlit screen, like a Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Glo.

      • Depends on how you read. I got a ton of use out of my regular kindle keyboard reading under lamplight etc. However now I have a paperwhite and its good. But I miss my side buttons :(

        • i dont mind one without a light. just wondering if this is a good price for it or if i can find it better somewhere else

    Dicksmith Sony sound bar:
$398 via Dicksmith eBay store, but only $296.50 via the Dicksmith website. What a scam!!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261720005872
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/soundbars/sony-muteki-2-1-ch-sou…

EDIT okay that item is on sale via the 24 hour sale-a-thon. So I suppose that's somewhat justified…

    • And that new sale price went live around 9 this morning, when I checked at 7am a lot of them were back at RRP which made ebay look good but within an hour or two they put the sale prices on the website. You have to just check every where before buying from Dick Smith

Have been searching for a good soundbar deal for a week or two and the DSE pricing has been like a yo yo, I settle on a model one day at $300 next day its $449….then nothing in stock around me lol

  • Any thoughts on the Kogan 27" WQHD monitor??
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kogan-27-Cinema-Display-WQHD-2560…

    Comes down to $400~

    • Has been that price on their website quite a few times:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/kogan+cinema?s=t

If you don't need one you might want to hold off. Better deals and/or models might come out. Dell refurb 27" are quite competitive from dell outlet.

      • Yeah I think you're right.. Reviews aren't outstanding on it either.
        Cheers.

        • +1

Happy to save an ozbargainer some cash. These ebay sales are really smart in the sense that it makes you think you will miss out on the savings when often by waiting or by choosing another non ebay retailer you can get the same or even lower prices.

        • never buy Kogan crap, unless you have too much cash and want to throw it in the rubbish bin.
