Simple visit their website and it says below

      https://www.tangerinetelecom.com.au/help/do-i-get-a-static-i…

      We offer sticky IP addresses.

All Tangerine NBN plans include a sticky IP address. This means that the public IP address of your connection does not change every time you connect to our network This is useful if you wish to access computer or other connected equipment from outside your property. This may include CCTV cameras, or a home media centre or NAS drive. Please note though that in very rare occassions as deemed necessary by network engineering team - there may be rare instances where the IP address could change.

    • No CGNAT in my experience. Port forward always worked.

  • Do they have a pop in Brisbane?

  • How long is this discount for 6 month promo going to be the standard deal for telco's. 6 months is too short to be worth the effort.

  • Joined with place 7 months ago Fttp very happy so far only had 1 outage & getting 106mbps of 100 speed .

  • +4

Switched to Tangerine a couple of months back and it has been a terrible experience. Frequent drops which I have never had before. Service is hard to reach and not good.
Mine is a FTTP, on a 250/20 plan which rarely works as it should.

    • Where are you based?

  • Do they use cgnat?

  • Where are l my fellow Australia Post Broadband customers from last dea OzB deal? Lol

    • +1

      Here

    • Was previously on Auspost and now here. I looked up cancellations and it says it might charge a $25 termination fee, are they actually doing that?

  • Would not recommend tangerine. The Internet quality is so bad, with constant dropouts and disconnections, slow buffering speed, unstable speed…

If you can help it, never use tangerine. I can say that spintel is so much better when comparing to tangerine, so you know how bad they are.
I’m in brisbane but had great experience with spintel

    • Was with them for 6 months and had no issues at all. I switched to "MORE" for their 1 Year CBA customer deal once my 6 months was up. Perhaps relates to your exchange but it's not bad for everyone.

      • Perhaps relates to your exchange but it's not bad for everyone.

same to you mate. It's not good for everyone.

        • Yeah it may be inconsistent - I’ve been with them twice and had flawless service.

  • I was looking to churn back to Tangerine after my current Exetel 6 month promo is up. It would be 12 months after I had previously churned away from them onto Superloop. But it seems once you've been with them previously, you'll never be considered as a new customer anymore :(

It is not available to customers with an existing Tangerine nbn™ service or who have previously had a Tangerine nbn™ service. The offer is only available once per customer and per premises.

    • Only provider that will not provide a discount to previous customers as their definition of a new customer is one who has never had an account with them previously.

      • Yeah you can't even sign up a family member either as it's still the same location. It sux cos I actually didn't have a problem with their service. Got a couple of referrals too. And they're the cheapest 100/20 promo price.

    • I thought it was 12 months - I was able to recently a bit over 12 months in between although my earlier service was FTTC and current service FTTP so could be why.

      • Hmm well I am planning to upgrade from FTTN to FTTP.

  • Have been with superloop for about 9 months (my 6 month deal has ended) and paying $85pm for 100/20…..tempted by this since i love a discount but SL have been very solid…..

    • Superloop is my fav out of the other 5 or 6 ISPs I've tried over the past couple years. Only ABB came close. Obviously could be my area that they work best in. But either way they were the most consistent and had maybe one micro dropout per month, if that. The rest were so frequent, some multiple dropouts per day and inconsistent speed (other than ABB, where its maybe a few dropouts per month) It was frustrating with so many others.

      • Have to agree, was very surprised how good they’ve been. Don’t know about their customer service - haven’t needed it which is unusual in itself!

      • Currently with Superloop and I can't fault their local and national network. I really like how minimal their maintenance is unlike Aussie when I had then a few years ago (my first nbn provider back in 2015 when we went RFS). Hope Aussie improved. It was like clockwork at 12am when they had issues with the new equipment

Going to switch to leaptel after my referrals end and hopefully it works well. Then thinking of switching to exetel then going back to Superloop if all goes well.

  • +1

Speeds were okay. Portal is terrible. Customer service is okay. You can make it even cheaper with referrals and reviews.

  • If you are after a good quality high speed plan, I would recommend looking at Leaptel as they have a long running 500/50 12 month deal for $109.

    • +1

I second this. Been with Leaptel for around 5 months and has been a blast. Had a few issues with intitial setup due to my router and their Melbourne customer support helped me out to fix the issue very quickly.

      • +1

Yep, Very responsive support. They know what they are doing.

  • +3

If you haven't been with Tangerine before, give it a crack.

Been around the block with Optus, Kogan, Aussie, Superloop, Exetel and Tangerine. I thought all providers were created equal, until Spintel 🤮 Stupidly slow.

Tangerine were as fast as the others and a really good price. Moved on after 6 months only for something shinier. 10/10, would churn again.

  • Been with them for 3 years on fttn 50/20.

I wfh and have never (true) had a dropout. I use an old tpg v2 1600v with admin rights to stop tpg sending their firmware and it's never missed a beat.

I get 52 down on my wifi 6 connected mesh no issues. When nbnco finally get around to putting fttp here (it's been roped) I'll stay with Tangerine but wait until nbn decommission fttn and give me same speed for free rather than having to move speed tiers.

    Bribie for those Brisbane people

  • Can I combine this with an FTTP upgrade? I just got the nbnco email saying I may be eligible an hour ago

What plan would I need to be eligible for the upgrade?

Currently I max out at 3 megabytes per sec so it's time for an upgrade!

    • +1

Tangerine can put in a FTTP request at these prices.

What is the minimum speed plan you can order from a participating ISP to get FTTP?

FTTN to FTTP: Home Fast (100/20).
FTTC to FTTP: Home Superfast (250/25).

You can go faster if you wish.

  • Anyone can confirm you can still get the promo after 1 years not being Tangerine?

    • +2

I churned from them back in Feb 22, just signed up again with my existing account and it appears to be processed at the promo rate. The churn back them won't occur until later in the month, so guess I'll find out for sure then.

      • I’m interested in hearing about your experience. Thanks

        • +1

I just received my first invoice and the discount is ongoing, so I am considered a new customer again.

      • yeah i heard this too, planning to try tangerine for a 6 month again before jumping somewhere else
        thanks man

      • Hmm I just signed up to upgrade my FTTN 50/20 to FTTP 100/20 via Econnecx (Shopback) last night and got a call today from Econnex. They asked me to provide a different email address as I already have a Tangerine account from 2 previous churns. I gave them my other email address which worked fine. I then got a call back about 5 minutes later saying they're giving me the 100/20 for $49.90 instead of $62.90 because I was doing the upgrade! I then got some confirmation emails from Tangerine stating my preferred start date (Mon 29/05/23) and was charged $49.90 on my card, surprised I didn't get charged the 1% surcharge too. I'm hoping to change my start date to the day before though (can't select weekends on Econnex). The Tangerine portal however doesn't let me select past 1 month from the current date. But I'll fix it up at the end of this month. Need to send Exetel my 30 day notice now.

  • I had about 5 referrals signed up but never got the credit.

    • Same here…. from what I can tell I've had about 6-7 sign ups confirmed by fellow ozbargainers but no credit…. Have opened a case on the portal but I doubt they'll honour it unless I can prove the sign ups etc…. Lets see what happens.

  • If you can't enter your card details and referee code in Safari, try using Chrome - worked for me

  • I have joined Tangerine NBN 250/25 plan since Feb and these are my dropout dates.
Each dropout took 30min ~ 1 hour to get restore.

    21 Feb
    27 Feb
    2 Mar
    10 Mar
    21 Mar
    28 Mar

HFC, PPPoE, distance from my place to node is short so I usually get like 260/20 when tested speed at peak hours.
Happy with speed but not happy with above drop outs. Called Tangerine Support, they tried to check the connection, refreshed their nbn device for my connection on 21 Mar.
Still had 1 dropout after that and I'm still monitoring as it seems to be happening on every 7th~10th day from last dropout ;)

I will try Exetel next time.

  • ewww vocus

    • What about nexon

  • Do they require 30 disconnection notice? And do they have a referral program?

Exetel $hit me with their 30 days, never again.

  • Just swtiched away from Tangerine, after talking to a customer service rep on the phone about FTTP upgrade and the dude tried to teach me a lesson with his false understanding about NBN policy, with a "I won't let you go until you agree with me" attitude.

  • Fttn in Perth, Tangerine was one of the worst connections we had. Slow, constant dropouts, couldn't wait to churn.

    https://www.spintel.net.au/home-internet/nbn

    Spintel is cheaper

Anyone on this plan and has any feedback?

    • unless your in Sydney stay away as they only have one pop

    • Spintel have any 250 plus plans? Cant see any on their web site.

  • +1

Thx, next on my rotation list

  • Does tangerine allow port forwarding? Also is that sticky IP on CGNAT or unique per user?

  • +1

I signed up with them a month ago. Really happy with the speed + customer service but terrible portal.

  • Can anyone comment on tangerine’s ping when done a Speedtest? I am with SpinTel at the moment and the ping is around 45ms, it was 3ms when I was with ABB.

    • +1

I'm with More Internet, which is basically Tangerine. I get 2ms pings

      • Thank you, useful information. I will try Tangerine. Low ping helps while gaming.

  • do any retailers give you a prorated refund for cancelling nbn service? I'm with more telecom and can't find any answers on their website.

  • $40 off plans for 6 months after fibre upgrades too.

    • Details please? I signed up to upgrade from FTTN 50/20 to FTTP 100/20 and they reduced the monthly from $62.90 to $49.90.

      • +1

$40 off the normal $89.90 price. Still a great deal and better than the $62 price in this deal

        • Ahh that explains my $49.90. Thanks.

  • I’ve tried to sign up but the credit card number and CVV inputs on the form are non-existent and I can’t complete the order. Tried multiple browsers (no ad blocking) and same deal. Anyone else got this?

  • My Aussie Broadband free month is about to end.

Tempted to join this, do I need to enter username/password on my modem for Tangerine? I never had to for Superloop and ABB

  • I am with Dodo and when I went to cancel they matched the deal and updated me to NBN100 immediately

    • Dodo have NBN 250 or is 100 their max?

  • Tangerine started charging me $89.90 for the 250mb deal posted previously, has this happened to anyone else?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/748948#comment

  • Is the referral system still running?

I didn't see a reference to it during signup and the refer a friend link is dead

    • I got a couple of 2x $50 referrals, had to wait over two months till the other person received two bills but great while they happened. Ozbargain system ruined that for me by publishing my referral link on a public website.

I think tangerine offers $15 but like anything have to remember to chase up.

I still easily recommend Leaptel though, at least for the first 12 months but the prices are still reasonable.

    • Send private message to a random referrer. A standard request will be sent, and you can add additional information below that will be included in the message. Please keep it in a single line and less than 120 characters.

      • +1

I just tried again on desktop and found the referral box on one of the first pages of signup. I'm pretty sure it wasn't visible on mobile browser

  • Just churned to them on the 100/20 plan. Speeds are a little bit better than 50/20. This will only last 30 days then I'm off to a new provider.

    Bye.

    • Which technology?

      • FTTP

        • You got the free upgrade or already on FTTP before?

          • @CVonC: The house and neighbourhood received FTTP years ago when Labour rolled out the NBN. Before the Libs fcck'd it up with the hybrid FTTN BS.

    • Hey I just got on the fttp today, getting between 30-low 50's on a 100 plan lol. Did it get any better for you?

And no penalty if we just churn after the first month?

  • AVOID !!! Just switched to a 250/20 plan. It's horrible. Typical evening speed is around 110/10. The ping is around 13ms ! I don't know what's happening but I can't even stream HD twitch anymore without it stopping for buffering. Will be switching to another provider next month. Waste of time and effort. Useless.

  • +2

Just switched from aussie, my 2c:
    - both 1000/50 plans
    - they switched it all over within 12 hours
    - download speeds tested at 10pm are half of previous, ~450 vs 900 Mbps
    - upload speeds are the same mid 40s
    - pings all 3ms on speedtest.net
    - $30 cheaper per month than what aussie could offer (and -$25 referral for first month)
    - As long as the connection stays solid and speeds don't go lower, I'm content with the switch

    • +2

Update: luckily the slow download speed was an outlier, has since averaged 808-929 Mbps for the past week. 47 Mbps for upload.

  • +1

Heads up that Tangerine is not having an option for referral code when signing up for NBN and that they are now requiring extra details for referral when contacting their customer service. I.e.: account number, first and last name and the referral code

    • +2

I signed up 2 days ago, there was an option to enter referral code and discount was instantly applied. No more information required. Money deducted and internet connected yesterday.

      • For me, the code didn't work through on their online checkout. And when asked for their customer service, the agent rudely asked for the first and last name plus their account number and would not accept the code itself. YMMV

  • Signed up today through Shopback-eConnex.
We will see whether they honour the $99 Cashback

    • I wish I knew about this, applied 10 mins before seeing your comment.

Hope they honor it for you. I couldnt see 1000/50 plan for shopback.

      • Only signed up for 50/20 HFC.
We'll wait and see I suppose

    • Did yours track? Mine didn't and I had to submit a missing cashback claim

    • Sorry mate, what is this Shopback-eConnex giving you $100? Does it stack with the referral system?

  • Spintel costs the same for the first two plans, fyi.

  • OBS30 for $30 off

  • I'm interested in this deal but I'm currently with TPG. Do I need to give TPG 30 days notice and sign up to this at the end of 30 days to not be out of pocket? Do they do pro rata?

I'm hearing a lot of you churn between different ISPs. Do they not have set up fees/cancellation fees?? I'm keen to jump on this

  • +2

I transferred from More Telecom to Tangerine since my 12 months 30% off promo with More were up. As they are sister companies, I didn't have to change the PPPoE connection settings. Tangerine activated the connection one day earlier. The overall process was smooth. Getting 880Mbps.

  • +1

📢 Looks like prices have dropped further:
    - $62.90 $49.90 for 100/20
    - $109.90 $89.90 for 1000/50

    • damn those prices are crazy… already signed up and speeds have been decent, but these prices risk making them worse :(

    • +1

Just had a look, seems its back to normal pricing? am i on the wrong page or something??

    • +1

where are you seeing those prices?

      • +1

Put your address in and itll change hopefully

      • At the link above; it changes to those prices only after I submit my address.

    • +1

Those prices are for the people doing the free FTTP upgrade
