Thanks Neil & OzB team, interesting (and some amazing) stats. Well laid out too. Good job!

ps. Top 5 most popular stores (in pageviews) are all fast food outlets.. really???

    • +1

Wow Neil, good job on those interesting stats and tks for sharing - looking at the top 5 most popular stores, I think some of us OZBargainers certainly need to revamp our trashy diets or start searching OZB for a better health insurance deal, lol. (I know, I know that some of you are here for a good time and not a long time)

    • I was a bit surprised by this too, considering the top 5 deals all have more page views than those stores.

    • +1

If you do a Google search for either 'Domino's Coupons' or 'Domino's Vouchers' the OzBargain Domino's store page is one of the top results.

That's how I first came across OzBargain and I'm guessing it's why that store has so many hits.

      • That makes sense. However, I'm not sure that accurately reflects the "Top 5 most popular stores (in pageviews)". Do you keep stats of cumulative pageviews for each store's deal posts?

        • +1

Its just the amount of views on their store pages from Analytics. You are right Donga, cumulative pageviews of all the deals would be more accurate. There isn't a way to pull those stats out via Analytics( or at least I don't know how).

I think we can run a query that can pull clicksthroughs however that again can be different results from deal views.

Well, based on the Melbourne meetup we had I can confirm OzBargainers love pizza. :)

    • "Top 5 most popular stores (in pageviews) are all fast food outlets.. really???"

Erm, no not "really". Number 3 is Dick Smith. Or am I looking at a different list?

      • No, you're right. I'm a bit concerned now that I have associated DSE with fast food.

        • +1

I reckon you're on to something. Imagine getting your eneloops delivered with your pizza.

  • I posted the most popular travel deal for September…YAY!!!! Ill try do good this month also!

  • 2 and #3 most negative comment. (Fedora/Reddit)

Can someone explain those to me? #2 just lead me to the ebay deal, and #3 didnt seem to have anything to do with reddit.

    • +1

It should link you directly there. However you will need to have show or hide comments with votes below threshold checked (e.g. show comments). It's in the yellow bar below post/preview comment.

    • le reddit armie is here! don't hate because you can't pull off the supreme gentleman's hat of choice.

This is just a troll thing some redditors do about 'fedora tipping'

  • When I click on the 4th most negatively voted comment "A user states that McDonalds can't throw you out -56", it leads to Forum Topic Unpublished by Moderator.

    • Didn't notice that. Have fixed the list.

  • Tightarse wins again, and people think im mad for thinking he does it and not gets financial gain from companies.

    • He's practically on the OzBargain payroll with the amount of monthly awards he wins (not undeservedly).

    • +1

It's a bit sad that some people are actually believe this and bandwagon neg TA in hiding, they don't even have the fortitude to come out and stand by their account name and say their piece!

      • I think it's important to listen to everyone's view and take things into consideration before negging comments.

  • Very interesting, if only I could +1 this as well, :)

Nice! First time I've seen this.

Now someone will take the data and make an infographic out of it. Maybe an annual one. Hint, hint. I'm hoping. Please?! ;-p
