Waiting for Black Friday to get the xiaomi monitor for around 450.

    • +5

      where from?

      • +2

From the official Xiaomi eBay store and others. It was around $450 after cashbacks on Amazon Prime day.

    • hoping the same, got my plus membership ready and $50 voucher ready too!!

      • +4

You can't combine the voucher on eBay

    • Id have bought it by now if it wasnt for widespead reports of screen flickering when enabling gsync

      • I could not find how to enable G-Sync at all lol - unless this is recent news

        • +1

You have to enable it on the actual monitor before you will have the option in gfx settings.
Only works on 10xx series or newer i believe

          No screen flickering here!

      • I pre-ordered it when it first came out a couple months ago, still going strong and never had any issues, gsync doesn't actually exist on this one btw, it's a freesync only model but nvidia added support for freesync on their cards a year ago or so, works perfect.

  • +3

    Good price for the monitor

    • +5

I agree. I'm using it as my WFH monitor and it's great. Running at 100 hz through my docking station and it's so smooth scrolling through documents.

      • it's so sweet right that first time you see the smooth scrolling

      • +1

What docking station do you use?

      • +1

        3440×1440 @ 100hz on your docking station?

        Which model?

      • +1

@Jacko1235 Hi, what docking station are you using pls?

        • +2

Hi everyone, yes it displays at 3440x1440 @100 hz. The answer to the million dollar question is https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08F9PBHLL/ref=ppx_yo_d….

I was tossing up between this and the Delld6000 but ended up getting the former because it is cheaper. The dock costs $215.99 and cashrewards is 4% (excl. GST). No issues with setting it up and my laptop recognised it with no issues or the need to install any drivers.

          • @Jacko1235: Jacko, apologies. My fat fingers slipped and I accidentally negg'd your reply lol. No idea how to take back.

          • @Jacko1235: USB C Laptop and USB C Monitor makes docking stations redundant…

      • how is viewing angles and reading text / coding? IIRC it is VA panel and some mention it could have issues with displaying text and etc.

        • +1

          Text is crisp.
Visual Studio and various other IDE's in use are perfect. Using dark mode has no issues either.

    • @Gearbite just pulled the trigger on the monitor, upgraded to express as need it next week for work at the in laws place, any chance of expedited dispatch? Order 9346… cheers

      • Update.. got an email from gearbest and confirmation shipping tomorrow. Well done.

        • gearbest?

          • @PissLUR: Lol gearbite I mean.

            • @angryasian: @angryasian Are you going to be connecting it to a MacBook Pro? If so, does it come with the cable needed or do we have to buy it separately?

              • @sridhar: Will be connecting to a Dell with USB c and hdmi and using with an old 2012 retina MacBook with hdmi only from time to time .. got the USB c adapter mentioned above

                • @angryasian: ok cool. I found a DP to mDP (I think it is) + a mDP (female) to USB-C adapter in the garage.

Used those to connect my 2017 MBP to the monitor.

                  Shared my thoughts here: https://twitter.com/srikat/status/1324259684333756417?s=20.

                  • @sridhar: Sweet.. monitor arrived on Friday 6th to regional Vic after ordering on the Monday. Running via hdmi with dell 7280, was managing 60hz. Switched over to the USB c to dp adapter and works great on 120hz

Haven’t tried to ether 2012 mbp yet.

                    Monitor is really nice

  • +1

Thanks doweyy - I grabbed the monitor :)

  • Still waiting for the toilet seat to have the wall controls.

    • +2

The controls on the seat work fine?

      • +1

Phone is fine, so I'm sure that seat is fine

    • +4

Why do you want to control a wall?

  • +1

I will wait till singles day or Black Friday. $499 isn’t Low enough.

    • +25

      Ok.

  • +1

    Do I need a rangefinder?

    • +14

Why not. You can randomly measure rooms or make sure people are complying to social distancing 1.5m

      • Different model

      • +5

This is Pro Version , even better than ATuMan LS-1S Here, please check comparison Here

        • bought the rangefinder

    • Pew pew

  • Just bought the Bosch range finder. Oh well.
    Thats cheap For the bidet

    • You can cancel that if it hasn't been shipped already. Easy with Amazon

      • I'm just not decided on what I want.

        • Please report back once you have decided

          • @Mr Frodo: yes, once the bosch is back in stock I want to jump on it :)

  • Thoughts on the Xiaomi 34' monitor vs Dell 32 inch S3220DGF?

I just bought the dell one 30 min ago for 599$

Seems like longer warranty, 165hz, can do 1440p 120hz (if u get AO3) despite being smaller a bit. Youtube reviews seem to say it can compete with 1k monitors like Samsung G7.

    • Does it have iPS and is it curved?

    • complete different uses,
34'' is untralwide, and 32 inch dell isn't, plus lower pixel density on it too

I struggle to find the use of a 32inch monitor, unless its untrawide, 27'' is as big as anyone should go for desktop use!

      • +2

I suggest a minimum of 3 x 32" 4K monitors in portrait should be the bare minimum.

        • +2

The 2 outer monitors should be curved… Middle flat… All 4k hdmi 2.1 and run at 120hz… And a laptop that will never take advantage of any of it just to emphasise ones awesomeness…

        • I've found that a 32" 4K in landscape plus a 4K 27" in portrait is a pretty nice setup for coding.

I've also got a Xiaomi 34" - but that's hooked up to a different machine (4K setup is for work, Xiaomi is for play)

    • +2

      The Xiaomi screen is 21:9
      The dell is 16:9

They are different products. If you want an ultrawide, the Dell is the wrong purchase. If you don't want an Ultrawide, the Xiaomi is the wrong one.

    • -3

      curved monitors are for suckers.

  • how quick is the express shipping?

    • as quick as the carrier

    • I ordered my 34' monitor on the 2nd and I received it today (South West Sydney)

  • +1

Hey gearbite will you ever stock the xiaomi short throw projectors locally?

  • Any noticibly cheaper than usual robot vacuum deals?
Cats are shedding and my hayfever is defeating me

  • +2

Do the air purifiers reduce the amount of fine dust that gathers on furniture, screens etc?

    • +2

It's not a vacuum so not really.
      Filters are not cheap.
The best way is to clean your room more often.

      • I clean the room regularly, but find the linen tends to shed quite a bit. Was hoping this might catch some of that..

        • +1

That's exactly what I was hoping when I bought mine years ago.
It helps, but not a satisfying amount, if that makes sense? Unless you are willing to run it at high power most of the time (loud), it really doesn't have enough suction to pull in larger particles.
I have since started just chucking any clothes/sheets in the room on an airing cycle in the dryer - the mass of lint that comes out after a 30min cycle is stuff you would otherwise have to dust/vacuum. Much more satisfying! :)
The purifiers are really good at removing smells/smoke - and to some degree pollen - in the air, so make of that what you will.

Edit: should have mentioned I was referring to the 2s…the item pics show a comparison between the two, and the 3 seems to have a little more 'oompf'.

          • @reductive: Thanks for the feedback - I do love near a major road so it probably wouldn't do any harm regardless

    • I have two 'high end' air purifiers on the market (Inovair and dyson over >2k spent). (What they do is clean the air - if that makes sense?)

Air purifiers don't remove the actual fine dust in the air. For example, the dust you see when your projector is on at night.

You would need some type of industrial vacuum to clear the air completely.

Your best advice has been said above - keep it extremely clean with dusting, vacuuming and all windows open regularly. Airflow is key.

  • is 187 a good price for the 3H?

    • I think it is, I got mine for $178 as it was the cheapest its ever been from Shoppro, but it seems to float around the $199 mark.

      • It was $150 last month from kogan but sold out rather quick.

  • +4

$50.96 for the Mi Smart Desk Lamp 1S is all time lowest I believe, great price for a great product

  • Anyone got any idea what postage time would be like? Thinking of grabbing the 3H Air Purifier delivered to Melbourne.

    • I ordered the monitor on the 2nd and I took delivery of it today (South West Sydney)

  • How difficult or hard it is to install the toilet seat?

    • +1

i think you need to install a power outlet first. A sparky charges quite a bit for that if you can't do it yourself.

  • +1

I thought everyone grabbed a monitor last time. 700+ sold in a few minutes!

    • Now they have 2 or 3…. Winning

  • Hi Rep,

Can you please add "Xiaomi Original Mijia XNQ01RR Virtual Wall Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner" in your store?

I see it being sold in Amazon at https://www.amazon.com.au/XIAOMI-ECO-Systems-Robot-Vacuum-Ba….

    • Please check Here

  • You getting more stock of the Xiaomi R1 walking pad?

    • Yes, we do have more stocks.

      • Says sold out and I cannot order?

        • Updated.

  • +1

Does the Xiaomi 34" monitor auto detect input sources or do you have to change it manually?

    • +1

      Auto detects

  • Does anyone know how the Xiaomi Mi Curved 34" monitor works well when connected to a MacBook Pro? Mine is the 2017 model.

Will the text be sharp? This is for productivity and not gaming.

    • I have the exact setup with HDMI, and it works well

      • Nice. Do you mind sharing a photo or two?

I'll wait for BF. Not in a rush to buy.

        • Actually, I went ahead and ordered it on the 2nd itself.

Received the monitor today but can't use it because the USB-C to DisplayPort cable is not here yet.

  • Dam if the xiaomi monitor had a usb c port i would have snapped it up for upto 900 bucks

    • Can you just use a $30 USB C dock with display port, charge through etc?

      • Nah not the same. But worth considering. Any recommendations for a $30 usb c dock that gives 100Hz

        • +2

This cable has worked fine for me delivering 120hz straight from my 2018 MacBook Pro, also has an inbuilt PD port to charge the laptop as well

          • @parcus: Thanks!! This looks gooooooooood. Any idea if usb peripherals connected to the monitor will work on the laptop via this cable?

            • @JungliChilli: Monitor itself doesn't have any USB ports to connect peripherals, and I'm pretty sure that cable won't read peripherals either, just for charging. Would have to connect any peripherals to the laptop (or a usb hub connected to the laptop) and it should work across the laptop and monitor. Currently only have wireless peripherals so can't test that out. Got mine connected to an mx master 3 and keychron k4, works flawlessly between laptop + monitor.

              • @parcus: Thanks mate. This gives me something to think about now. Might pull the trigger on the monitor and cable
