Storage Wars: Episode 1

Broden has vanished. In his absence, the sinister PHANTOM NEGGER has risen from the ashes of the Empire and will not rest until Broden, the last tightarse, has been destroyed.

With the support of the MODS, General Mumma-Mod leads a brave RESISTANCE. He is desperate to find Broden and gain his help in restoring peace and justice to the galaxy but first he needs to find the galaxy's best storage space.

Mumma-Mod has asked RESISTANCE members to submit a photo of their storage space packed with treasured bargains picked up from OzBargain. The best ones will be selected & enjoy in the riches of the galaxy and save Broden.

I barely go into the comp area. So glad I did. Awesome write up. I'll be following this for the pics and stories.

  • -4

    Phantom negger sure does exist!

    • Looks like you've negged me again without any rhyme nor reason . Not that I mind really but it does make me wonder if you could be the Phantom Negger? :)

      • -1

        Nope I haven't negged you.

But I have just done it now, because you're stalking me.

        • +1

          Why would I stalk you?

Edit: A very helpful ozbargainer sent me a link to this comment:

          GameChanger on 18/02/2016 - 01:39

It would be nice to be able to follow other users; some posters really intrigue me (…) I would love real time notifications

          Sounds like you're the stalker.

        • -3

@Jar Jar Binks: You have posted in the threads that I have dug up from ages ago.

          Yep, you're stalking me.

    • +2

      Phantom negger sure does exist!

      They're called albinos!!

      • -1

Good to see you around Scrooge!

  • "Mumma-Mod" :)

Is that his actual nickname or was it just a term coined by Spackbace in reference to something I said?

    • +2

Haha certainly not my nickname, we got it from that comment by Spackbace in reply to yours. Case of mistaken identity I believe.

      • :)

  • +3

i think there is a bit of Broden in all of us.

    • +1

yeah .. you definitely have digital 'bits' in you. :)

  • +3

I am definitely going to win this. I have two rooms in my house filled with so much ozbargain junk I cant even open the door to get in them anymore!

    • +1

how did you open the door to get the stuff in there in the first palce o_O

      • Through the roof…

    • +1

Show us a room of eneloops and we can talk.

  • +1

Why does this say there are 8 entrants? Where can I see their entries?

    • +1

0 so far. Perhaps they've clicked entered as they have taken the picture but not yet submitted it here.

  • do we have to mentioned specifically which item is from ozbargain? And which deal specifically?

    • Just a photo is fine. You can explain it in the comments if you wish.

  • +4

I will start and submit my entry, I think most people waiting for near the deadline to submit thiers.

before I joined OzB and didn't have half of these stuff so after I joined about I bough 5 of these boxes I thought they will be enough for the small stuff I buy from time to time. But now I have 50 boxes (only showing 44 boxes, 6 boxes still unused, just in case!)

it hard to show you all the items in the boxes but here are some

some of the items I dont know what to do with them, and I dont even think to sell them because I bought them cheap!

Any items that cant fit in the boxes, it goes to the unit storage in the garage.

    • Hahahaha, lolled so hard at picture #3. Maybe I havent been an ozbargainer long enough, but I dont get the pictures with the envelopes.

      • +2

haha, I am glad that made you laughed, these are the collection of the freebie, I never bought condoms :P

for the envelops, Australia post increased prices at the end of last year
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/224874
so I stocked up with two boxes of these envelops before the new prices.

  • This is OzBargain. "Storage" can only imply disk space around these woods. Maybe someone will post a massive NAS (Network Attached Storage)?

  • +1

Not sure I have any photos to add but want to give a +1 to whomever wrote the competition description.

  • +2

So this is my storage room, aka my bed room. I put the tallboy in to store everything because I was running out of floor space. A few boxes added to show some larger purchases. I don't even game, thanks OzBargain.

  • With great embarrasment, I present to you my overflowing Ozbargain drawer….

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/18801/40160/storagewar…

    …overflowing with Ozbargainy Goodness

The bottom shelf contains all my Urban Outfitters clothes (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194201) I have bought that don't fit and probably never will, along with the Slazenger socks (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/195189) that are way too warm to wear in Queensland ever, but essential for times when the Phantom Neggar may attack, or possibly when Broden is finally free from his Carbonite freeze. To your left is a leftover Everlast jacket (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/247501) and spare Tontine Mattress Protector (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/232729), to help him through the cold winters.

All resistance fighters also need a stockpile of silky Toilet Paper and thankfully the stockpile from the Seige of the Woolworthian Planes (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192255) is still lasting in these difficult times. We also see down there on the floor some unused Vistaprint Propaganda cards to debargainise the minds of the Neggers (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/131126).

On top of the stockade we also have all weather armour, including a Woodworm umbrella (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/137923), Various unused thongs (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/174701), shoes (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/187201), and an essential toolkit (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/197032) for fixing the droids. There are also some Sport Direct Snow goggles in the top drawer.

Also in the top drawer, we store an array of treasures, including Eneloop batteries (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/243989) (worth more than gold in these times of economic collapse), Telstra Datasticks (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/211241) for satellite comm, Energizer Recharger modules (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/241094), fake (to sabotage the enemy) and genuine powerbanks (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214496, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/251166) for droid extension, luggage scales (for emergency carry on Jetstar space-flights) (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/105050), Vitacost Lifeforce Tablets to eat when the food runs out (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/236834), emergency bonds underwear (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/250400), various bargain usb sticks with essential Phantom Neggar Starship Plans, and the ultimate treasure…. one of the last used and working pig flashlights (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/30938) known to be in existence.

    Viva La Resistance!
    Viva La Bargain!
    Viva La Broden!

Sick you have a Windows Phone!!!!

        • Are you a broden

  • My meagre monkey ICE addiction booty from that colourful Coke promotion.
5 from the comp and 3 from the unclaimed prize draw. the Orangutan is also a prize
Also had some headphones from the unclaimed draw but gave them away

    • I can't even give the dam things away as a gift! Colourful watches just aren't in apparently.

      • same problem no one I know wears watches due to mobile phones. I'm going to give them to my nieces and nephews when they are a bit older.

  • Storage for me has moved to the family room, with the table tennis table being used for short term storage and as a processing table.

Some purchases you can see in the photo include:

    • Handle of Worx Jaw Saw (chain saw outside)
    • B&D hedge trimmer and sander
    • Ninja blender
    • Ergo baby carrier - it's so handy we've used the pram less than 5 times
    • Miele Complete C2
    • Books from Booktopia - to go on shelves in the library
    • Batteries from Kobalt mower I picked up from Masters last week
    • Brown rice from Coles
    • A year or two's worth of black rice from Aldi
    • Wacom tablet from Aldi still unopened
    • Parts of shoe cabinet from Aldi after installation - will need to recycle these
    • Sporting gear from various places (tennis rackets, cricket bat)

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/22732/40213/img_5498.j…

  • This is my toilet storage area, there was a lot more, Its slowly getting down.

  • (Had to censor the words on the boxes as we may be a well known business in the area)

A short story: My parents own a restaurant and we moved into this house ~3-4 years ago. A couple of weeks moving in, we had an argument with the neighbours behind our house because apparently our garden lights were too bright and that her mother couldn't get to sleep because of the lights at 9PM. I kid you not, 9PM! Keep in mind, these lights were only turned on manually for when we needed to move the boxes or take the clothes back in at night so it wasn't some sort of tube-shaped spotlight - it was just a regular tube-shaped light that was used in the garden.

After a few more arguments in the middle of the night with her, I come back home from uni in the afternoon one day to find two undercover police officers wanting to search my home as they were tipped off by some 'anonymous person' about a possible "drug storage facility" (A direct quote). Being that this was my first time with undercover police officers who were in trackies with a hoodie, I was extremely suspicious of them and questioned them for their ID and badges and even personally inspected them (I was under the impression the badge could've been faked or something) but I remained suspicious of their identity regardless until I finally asked them to show their guns to which they obliged and lifted their hoodies and revealed their holstered Glocks.
Leading them to these two sheds, which admittedly do look extremely dodgy as they take up literally 2/3 of our entire backyard, the male officer opened the (at the time) padlocked doors only to be confronted with………………………all the boxes pictured that contained stock for our restaurant - spoons, bowls, bamboo steamers, takeaway containers etc. as well as general home stuff (a bedframe or two, a bike, crates of books and plenty of other bits and bobs).
Not even half a minute goes by until they are already out the gate and asked me, of all things, "Why was I being so suspicious???"

They explained that they understood my suspicions and that they generally go in their civilian clothing so as to be able to 'talk' to people such as myself and it was at this point I'm thinking "Mate, if you were in your uniform you would've made this much easier for yourself"

About the sheds themselves: The pictures don't do the sheds justice as we now can’t get to the stuff in the back without moving all the stuff in the front as the pictures show, not only do we have these, we also hired one of those self-storage facilities (Kennards (?)) and have reduced the rent for our investment property as we needed the extra storage space provided by their garage.

We needed our own ‘flooring’ of the sheds else the floor would just be the concrete from our gardens and to that end, we’ve used plenty of wooden pallets and other junk pieces of wood – much of which is either uneven with the rest of the pallets or rotting away and forces us to tread carefully.

Hanging clothes in my house is also the biggest chore because these two sheds took up the space that we were going to have used for the clothesline. Thanks to these two sheds I now have to bob up and down on some rock ledge for every single piece of clothing.

    Hi,

I have two main piles choca-block with items I've bought 100% thanks to this website. I think the only thing not from a OzBargain posted deal are the two protein shake bottles.

So, to go through some of the items…

I bought twenty Piping Hot jogging pants from the Target 75% off sale ($10 each reduced from $40 - love them). I also spent around $1500 in total from the various Target sales in the last twelve months. As you can see, when I like something, I buy several of each thing. White t-shirts reduced from $15 to $2.50. yes please! Shorts, shirts, jumpers, jackets, you name it. Bring on the zombie apocalypse!

I bought twenty pairs of underwear from Oroton in that sale a few months back and several pairs of Bonds undies from another. Love them. Cotton/ elastane FTW!

I bought two Sennheiser headphones (couldn't decide on a colour) from the sale which had a redemption offer. They were great about honouring the redemption so I paid about $120 each in the end if I recall correctly. Nice! Will come in handy with my songwriting. Speaking of which I bought a great Rode microphone and Fast Track Solo recording interface during the last 20% off Ebay sitewide sale. And I bought a TZ-60 Lumix camera in the 20% off sitewide sale before that. Not the best camera so I'm hoping to update to a GX8 ASAP to help with YouTube videos.

I bought two massive rolls of bubble wrap from the CLICKMORE sale which haven't arrived yet.

I bought two dash cams from Supercheap Auto from the CLICK20 sale during the recent limited 20% off sale, as well some other items like wax and car covers, etc, etc…

As you can see I have a fondness for linen. I have filled out surveys and I've kept abreast of any thehome website sales. I now have loads of Doona Cover sets, sheet sets and pillow cases. They will remain packaged until I buy my first home which I am desperately saving for. I would've reached half my deposit if not for buying all this stuff but the way I look at it, I'm buying the things I need now before I have a mortgage. Planning ahead! :)

There actually more items but I ran out of room to photograph them and I live in a tiny place. Let alone the food I've saved heaps on thanks to the great posts.

Here are my images via Imgur… I tried several times to take decent photos but my TZ-60 didn't want to cooperate. Grrr.

Anyway, thanks for the great website. Truly!

  • A long hour ago in a galaxy far far away from the evil Galactic Empire, in a bastion of the 'burbs amid the bogan-lands of Oz, was discovered Broden's bachelor bunker. It's bursting with a burgeoning bounty of brilliant bargains… and breakfasts…

    http://imgur.com/upr6DIj

    Zombie apocalypse preparedness score:
    8 out of 10?

Percentage of items bought thanks to OzBargain:
Over 60% (Technically the breakfasts and other food were bought due to various Colesworths posts over time so it may actually be over 90%. Even the dining table and chairs was from eBay 20% off in 2015.)

    "What's in the box?!"

Please don't flame me. I use and give away heaps of the stuff I get, and it was also an experiment to see just how much stuff I could have sent to me. My eventual goal is to do a survival camping weekend where we can only use clothes, food, shelter, and weapons all improvised from OzBargain samples. At least we'll have fabulous hair!

    … and condoms ;)

Thanks for all of the entries. We are currently going through all of them and will have the results in a few days.

  • This made me realise that I haven't bought much through Ozb lately.

Sorry, I've been on holiday. Winners based on 5 judges.

    Winners:

    • Congrats to the other winners. I'm grateful have a winning storage space too. :) It is a good bunker actually.

    • thanks OzB team, never thought I will win. will be handy to buy more stuff to fill all the boxes :p
Congrats to other winners and better luck to who didn't win.

    • yay, thanks heaps!

    • Woah, woah, I feel like this was just a competition about who owned the most boxes, not actually a storage area.

      • +1

You seems to have more boxes than me!

        • Hahaha. Not what I meant, but true. Congratulations anyway.
