Sorry for the lateness of March's stats but if you haven't checked out our Zeitgeist (a yearly stats post) then do so.
I just discovered Google Analytics breaks down male/female demographics (new feature from Sept 16). We are at 82% male (orange), 18% female (green) which is a bit lopsided compared to the general population (close to 50/50).
Meanwhile, our Facebook followers (left graph) are 61%/38% while our Instagram followers (right graph) are 52%/48%. Instagram's general demographic tends to be young (18-24ish) and female while OzBargain's site is 25-34 male.
We've been playing around with newsletter features. E.G. Wednesday Hump Day Food Deals (cheap eats), Travel Thursday (Cheap Flights) and some others. Haven't had any feedback but if you like it, I'll continue to jazz up the newsletters.
Competition posts hit their highest level ever with 915 posted (gnv9 posting 508 of them). We had 220 comp winners in March with 2 wins of $5000 each from Energizer. It's really interesting to see the competition side of OzBargain grow with many members only using the comps sections and not looking at the deals. Now if only I could win some comps…
Site Updates of Interest (Not a full list)
- Add display stores so that a deal will appear on multiple store pages. Example: 20% off Vaya & GraysOnline @ eBay shows up on eBay, Vaya and GraysOnline's store page.
- Classifieds warning on every page.
- Changed Comp Type Creative' to 'Creative/Design for clarity.
- "Do not show expired deals" now applies to category pages as well.
- Shift closing soon comp in newsletter to be the most popular one that will close between 24-48 hours from time of newsletter
- Improved duplicate detection: It now list 6 deals by title match ordered by latest expiry. If store is known, 3 of the latest store deals are appended to the list.
- Allow user subscription - new subscribe button on user profile page.
- Lots of bugs.

Winners from last month:
RewardBucks as the deal poster of the month. 122 deals with +36.3 average votes, and 44 of them got onto the front page. He also posted the most popular Books & Magazines deal and Fashion & Apparel deal last month.
watson4884 for the most popular deal last month, $20 off When You Spend $50 at eBay that took 10 minutes to get onto the front page, and 15 minutes more to get +100 votes. The deal itself lasted only 4 hours but also almost crashed OzBargain with members trying to find the best ways to spend 50 bux on eBay.
headphonejack for post the most-clicked deal last month, latest Hungry Jack's Vouchers, with 37,000+ clicks from those looking for cheap fast-food. The previous HJ voucher post got 46,000+ clicks. We'll see how many would this one get before it expires.
gnv9 for being the competition queen. She posted 508 competitions (that's 16.4 comps a day!!) including comp of the month, Win $100/$5000 Prepaid EFTPOS Cards EFTPOS Australia, where 13 of OzBargainers actually won.
