- Our EOFY charity vote is over and we've raised $20,000 for Royal Flying Doctor Service, Black Dog Institute, Kids With Cancer Foundation, Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia, and Pets of the Homeless Australia. That brings our total to $206,690. This has been mentioned a few times but if one or a group of OzBargainers could get involved in setting up an "OzBargain" charity where members could vote and contribute to various causes, this would be great. From here:
What if we (as a collective) arranged an Ozb Meetup, where we volunteered and helped restore some charity facility or hand-out free food to people in need etc.
I know it will be a huge task to organise but if there is enough support from the community, I'm willing to volunteer my time to help organise something on a mass scale.
Benefit: cut out middle man so no wasted money on glossy papers and highly paid execs plus ozbargain Meetup (we could get sponsors) - 2 birds 1 stone
Cost: difficult to organise and may take a bit of time. (I'm willing to volunteer time to help bring this idea to life).

sasto for posting the most popular deal in May, Free Big Mac & $3 Big Macs via mymacca's App. Yes sasto is associated with McDonald's (as well as Coles & Hungry Jacks) however I believe the deal was genuinely shared rather than promoted by a brand representative — so still eligible for getting the award. I believe some OzBargainers might have way too many BigMac by now. At 2,180kJ according to Maccas, better get active to burn all that extra energy off (and enter into Active OzBargainers competition!)
ahara for posting the most clicked deal in May, Hungry Jack’s Vouchers. It received almost 48,000 clicks so far, and with expiry date at the end of July, I am expecting more HJ vouchers to be downloaded. My favourite is probably 2x Flame-Grilled Whoppers for $7.95. However at whopping 2,900kJ each, you'll need to run a Marathon to burn all that. Yup, have I mentioned Active OzBargainers competition?!
tightarse for posting the most popular Sports & Outdoors deal, Rebel Bike Sale 30-70% off. Great deal for cheap bikes and hopefully OzBargainers can get some good exercise out from them. I did buy a Vintage bike from another TA's deal last year for the wife + kids. Except it has been sitting in the shed most of the time. Maybe I should get them to enter the Active OzBargainers competition?!
Finally on the topic of competition, gnv9 posted the most popular comp in May, Win a 2018 Toyota of Choice. She also posted 434 other competitions last month with vote average of +11.7. Now that's an impressive stat. Whereas our own competition, Active OzBargainers photo/video comp, depressingly didn't even make to the top 10 last month.
