I'm really getting behind on these stats post… oh well.
Last month we supported RUOK? Day which is something we do feel is important in regards to large discussion forums. Twitter, Facebook and other social media services are creating an atmosphere for negativity for many people which in turn has an effect on people's mental health. So keep up the meaningful conversations with other members.
We welcomed our new moderator/editor RichardL who had been doing a great job as a power user. That has lightened the load a bit and will be useful when other staff are away (or asleep). He also won our member for the month in August!
Scotty and I attended a Rakuten event a couple of weeks ago. They are the middle men between the retailers and publisher. For an affiliate outsider, I found the event quite interesting. Cashrewards, Shopback, and some of your favourite retailers were there. Perhaps worthy for a separate post?
OzBargain's birthday is next month and we should be doing some meetups. If you can help out or suggest a venue, please let us know.
Site Updates of Interest (Not a full list)
- Thumbnail fixes and enhancement tools for blocked sites.
- Disabled forum tags for normal users (e.g. not power users or mods).
- Allow display stores to be set for comps and forums (e.g. more than 1 store per thread/comp)
- When sending subscription notifications, take blocked users and domains into account.

1112223334 for posting the deal of the month, Officeworks Price Beat Guarantee policy update with almost +2000 votes. Basically Officeworks removed the requirement of identical warranty, making it possible to ask OW to price beat grey imported items by 5%. It was posted by an employee with a few other OW employees contributing in the comments (as well as Officeworks HQ take-down requests & attempts to get details on those employees).
gnv9 for posting the most voted comp (Win PS4 Pro Bundles from Sony), most entered comp (Win a Bauhn TV & Soundbar from ALDI), most clicked-through comp (Win Commodore Calais V from Network Ten) and the most number of competitions posted (414 comps).
